I refuse to believe a true freshman making his second career start comes in here and wins
I agree with Dayton, but...that said.....when Leak was a freshman he went into Death Valley and beat the eventual 2003 National Champs. We had a senior running back next to him all day to tell him what the play was and what to watch out for. The key was that LSU scored one TD by a punt return, and that was it all day. So as always, it is the defense that is the key, not the QB.

But that was SEC season, not Leaks 2nd career start

Injury Report - Inside USC with Scott Wolf

Jurrell Casey (flu) returned to practice and worked with the first-team defense. Offensive guard Butch Lewis wore a boot on his foot after he sprained his ankle yesterday. It is supposed to be a precautionary measure so he can play against Ohio State. Jeff Byers and Alex Parsons will likely start at guards because Kris O'Dowd appears set to start at center.

I think that in general USC has better coaching and better athletes than we do.

This is something I will never understand people saying. I'm not bashing Pete Carroll, but to say he's a better coach than Tressel would require one thing. Winning the games he's supposed to win. Carroll might have more effective plays, but a better coach would not allow his team to stop playing before a game even starts.

Reading through this thread, its almost eery to see everyone buying into Barkley after one game of his entire career. Kind of sickening. The kid is good but damn! ESPN is putting the Kool-Aid out there, no need to drink it.

Barkley has shown his first mistake by running his mouth and telling OSU fans to "bring it." That right there should tell everyone where he stands as an unexperienced player. The kid will find out quickly Saturday night just how fast blue chip junior/senior defensive players are. Say what you want about the defense he practices against everyday. The difference between a USC self-scrimmage with Barkley and going live against OSU - He wont have that protecting black jersey on.

The kid is going to be a star....I don't need ESPN Koolaid to tell me that.
