Hmm, I hope I got it. That "gampad" isn't on the list of blockable advertisers, so it's not the company name. But I did see that on the list of blockable items - all of which we'd blocked - "mouseover expandable" and "click to expand" were unchecked, so those are probably recategorized from another group. I'll key an eye on that list whenever I go into the account.

LitlBuck, that link isn't showing anything now. Was it from clicking the ad?

Is anyone besides BuckeyeMike80 getting popup ads? I'm beginning to suspect that BP might not be generating those, if nobody else is seeing them now. Redundant reports would be useful in figuring it out.

No pop ups lately, but I did get another one of those times where it seems like there are four hundred ads trying to load. The bottom of my screen just kept going from one adserve to another. I tried to capture the screen, but couldn't get one with the ad stuff on it. It prevents the page from loading, and all but locks up BP for me. I closed everything else I had open, and it wouldn't stop.

I don't think your pornado came from BP. :wink2:

We're using a system that alternates networks, and if one has no ads to serve, defaults to another. (There is also a call to OpenX Market in there, which lets other ads outbid the ones we have.) It's possible that if multiple networks don't have ads to serve, it could default a few times, or it could just get stuck waiting for a server and need a page refresh, but that should be rare. It shouldn't prevent the BP page from loading, though, as the iframes make the page and the ads load completely separately. It may look as though it's still loading if the ads are still going, but the actual page content should be complete if you scroll to the bottom. Is that the case, or do you not get the page? Also, does "another one of those times" mean it's happening rarely or often? And at what time of day? Maybe that will help me figure out how to tweak the system.

Yeah, the page loaded. That was poorly worded. The problem is, while all that clicking is going on, I can't scroll or click anything else. It kinda locks up on me. I can visit other tabs and navigate thru those pages just fine, but BP is dead to me.

It's only happened three times total. It's not a big deal to me, but I figured you guys wouldn't be cool with it, so I reported it.

I think the first time it happened was in the evening...say...around seven pm or so...the other two times was early morning/late night...between 1 and 3 a.m. That's just a rough estimate...I'm not exactly sure.

Good info. Both ad server maintenance and lack of ads to display seem more likely to happen at night, I suspect. I get that sometimes with Google Analytics, regardless of the site. It will get stuck but is fine on a reload. I'll keep an eye out to see if there's any way to time out the load attempts if they aren't working.

Sorry for the late response but the answer is "no", I did not click on the ad. My problem when it comes to pages loading is much the same problem that BUCkYLE describes in his messages above. Maybe I don't navigate around the site like I should but on the bottom of my screen it waits for one adserver and then will wait for another and sometimes another and sometimes will lock up Explorer.

Drat, argh, RAWRRR! and thanks for the info. Maybe I can streamline things a bit more without cutting back too much on stuff that isn't really helping enough as it is.

Anyone know someone who wants to buy some nice, non-popuppy primo geotargeted super-ads? Space available! :)
