There is an ad that periodically appears on the right-hand side of the screen that says "Up in the Air" and flickers like crazy. I am fine with it as long as it is supposed to do that but just wondering if it is my PC. The other ads that appear in that area do not flicker.

My screen locked up this morning. I couldn't take a screen picture (had to re-boot), but copied down this info from the message:

banner id: 58813
campaign id: 21241
zone id: 33324

LitlBuck, we have "excessive animation" blocked wherever the option exists... sometimes they sneak through, but it should be the exception rather than the rule.

Hey, how did you find that info, especially if the screen was locked? That's hugely helpful in narrowing down the source, so if we can get all the reports like that, it will help a ton.

I can tell that's the leaderboard second-tier Adsense setup. Unfortunately, we don't have a vendor-by-vendor block for that one, so it's mainly a matter of disabling it entirely if necessary. But if we can get those numbers and try to find the ad vendor name, on some of the networks, we can get more specific.

I saw that in a message on the Windows bar at the bottom of the screen, after the 'downloading ...' It's in the same message area that counts down the number of items remaining.

I received a message like this (from McAfee) today on a couple of different URLs for ads:

ad.antventure.com/st?ad_type=iframe may cause a breach of browser security.

Why were you redirected to this page? When we tested, this site attempted to make unauthorized changes to our test PC by exploiting a browser security vulnerability. This is a serious security threat which could lead to an infection of your PC.
