Being able to play on another server is fine nice, but that is useless when your cities are tied to a server.

Jesus... Nothing I enjoy more than buying a new game and not being able to play because they are playing roulette with the servers... I have cities in two different servers because the first was down, now it is both of them....
Which server are we doing the BP one? NA East?

Yep. I sent those of you who listed usernames friend requests - Buckeye Maniac shows as a friend in Origin but not SimCity yet. That might be a server thing - Scott couldn't see me until I joined the right server. But once he did, he could invite me into the region he started, and I have a city in the BP world now.GomerBucks;2312112; said:

I also sent friend requests to everyone. You can send a request to join a region if the person is not on it, but I think you have to sign into that server in order to receive the request.
My town is a complete mess (when I can actually play it, which is not often). After the water fiasco I had to raise taxes in order to make all my changes, and that just sent my town into a death spiral. I have lost 70,000 of my once 170,000 pop and I have to keep taxes high in order to pay bills. Yet high taxes drives people away, and then my income goes down. Then I need to turn off some services, and that makes things worse. I am going to have to literally destroy everything and start from scratch. I was hoping there was a start over button for the town, but I haven't found it. I don't want to have 1 of the 16 squares taken up by a crap town, so when I can log back in I will be demolishing everything.
It also sucks no one else had started yet because I could have bought water while I figured out what the heck was going on. Oh well, live and learn.

Once again, it's on NAEast#2. I got in about an hour ago but it crashed again. Hopefully they get their crap together. I also don't want to change servers from NA because everyone else launches Friday and will become really busy (plus laggy) even though they are fairly open right now.

I played today, and had a message come up at the top left saying the server had disconnected. I wasn't kicked out, though, and eventually it came back online.
Once things are unlocked, it's a pretty good game. I still haven't figured out how to change the orientation of buildings, and the lack of fine control is annoying (the line of trees looks odd anywhere but in a perfect grid). The grid is also way too small; cities will wind up too similar as a result. I'm pretty sure the Cities series could kick EA's butt with a little effort, and keep the game moddable to boot; I hope they try. Even so, I've had fun playing.

I won't show up on Sim City until they release the Mac version. That is assuming the servers are working at all by then.
