Hmmm, looking at the comments in that new thread, it looks like Thujone may be hanging up the MS Paint for good. It's not clear, but I'd be sad if that were the case. Cascader is pretty good with the Paint himself, but it's like choosing between Da Vinci and Monet.

[EDIT] It looks like there will be no Shamepaint next year :sob: He'll still do the occasional work, like the yearly Thread of Dominance and such, but no weekly stuff. Hopefully Cascader at least still puts something out.

I never say never about anything, but they're a LONG ways away. They have no playmakers on offense, no QB, a '13 scUM-esque OL, and they're losing their best defenders. On top of that, they're bleeding recruits to Aggy, TCU, and Baylor. And while I think Skrong is a solid coach, I don't know that he's the dynamic leader they need to drag them out of the quicksand.

Recruiting is the root of their problems. When they had their run last decade, TCU, Baylor, and Aggy were all also-rans. Mack was as good a recruiter as their was in the country. Aside froma few defectors to OU and LSU, by and large, they hoarded the talent in Texas. Something happened after bammer spanked that ass. Mack lost his mojo. Plus, Baylor and Aggy hired dynamic coaches with sexy systems. TCU moved up from a mid-major conference. Since then, Texas has fallen to a distant 4th in their own state.

They need a dynamic coach to get Texas kids to buy into that program again. I don't think Charlie Skrong has it in him.

They're just massively insecure. They feel being a premier program is their birthright. They were insufferable when they were good last decade, but being bad has made them something even more loathsome. They're crybabies that sit on their boards and take potshots at the real bluebloods while trying to ride the coattails of the second-rate programs that have capitalized on their failures since bammer drove a stake through their hearts and snuffed out their program. Aside from thujone, not much good has come from that fanbase. If Saban has done one admirable thing since going to Tuscaloosa, it's destroying that bloated program with one swift kick to the nards.

I will say, if you venture away from the insane jealousy and inferiority complex of the football board, the shag has some really funny/entertaining shit on it. They just can't handle talking football.
