Absolutely true, which is what's made the Shag so much fun the last few years. The blind arrogance completely lacking any perspective of either their program's historical performance or NCAA troubles is literally mind numbing. The counting of annual "most profitable" rankings is as hilarious as the domers talking about recruiting class rankings during the Fat Bastard years. The problem will be should they ever get to being a top 5 program. At that point, my guess is it becomes insufferable, and you'll see all the visiting fans who now inhabit the Shag flying away like Seagulls before a Tsunami.

This was their Sugar Bowl thread. Granted, I was pretty high on the game result when I read through it, so that may have added to my enjoyment.
Found it funny how much some of them sound like tOSU fans saying they feel dirty if they root for tsun--the vast majority of them were pulling for the Buckeyes and delighted to see 'Bama fall, but a number of them were doing it as the lesser of two evils. Still fun to see them cheering for the win. (And, to see the worm turn from the first page predictions of a 'Bama blow-out to the realization that tOSU wasn't as out of place as they thought.)

That was more SEC/Alabama hatred manifesting itself along with repressed butthurt that Saban was never interested in the Texas job. Most of the Shag hates Ohio State. It's partly still moralizing butthurt over what happened in 2005--although odds are that maybe 1 in 50 of them were actually there. The other aspect is that a lot of them worship Michigan and in their Texas mix of arrogance and insecurity are obsessed that Texas be viewed as an academic peer and equal to UM.
True feelings are coming out in the NC game thread.

The Shag can be fun as a Buckeye if you have thick skin and know when to choose your battles. That being said, they really are a collectively more arrogant, self-deluding and self-important fanbase than even the domers. I've seen and read enough to truly and sincerely believe that. As I've said before, they've had one 5 year window of consistent national success in the last 36 years, yet they think and are utterly convinced of being just around the corner from dominating college football in a way not seen since Fielding Yost and their school girl crush school did before WWI and that all of college football is like an old EF Hutton commercial waiting for them to deliver their decisions and wisdom.

A poor mans Swoops?
First of all, there is no one poor enough to have a god damn QB worse than Swoops. I'd take Devin fucking Gardner every day of the week and twice on Sunday over that imbecile.
Second, if you think there is such a thing as a poor man Swoops you invalidate anything football related you speak to for the rest of your life. You are a moron's moron and your mother should have hit you on the head and sold the milk.
