But no one will ever admit that that wears burnt orange. And Strong knows it but can't say it. The UT job is a joke, a high paying joke, but between the Longhorn network constant interruptions, the booster who are as meddling as Jerry Jones, a fan base that thinks that they're still the top dog in TX, and the rest of the TX teams stepping up and no longer fearing UT, the coaching gig is almost a set up to fail.

Not sure what's funnier, that Steve Patterson fired John Bianco, the Texas SID, for no fucking reason, or that the interim AD didn't immediately hire Bianco back. With no SID, Charlie Strong gets to face the media Qs about players access to cell phones at halftime and it's all news to him.

What's funny is there is a quote the local station plays from Charlie about " social media is the down fall of society".
Again. Charlie is a dead man walking which is a shame because I feel he is a good couch but I think he's a better fit for USCe or Miami

Fake USC would be a good fit! Miami idiots are still clamoring for Butch davis and Mario Cristobal, not realizing that Strong has a solid recruiting base in South FL and is a name that they could afford and he'd be happy to be there and no look at it as a stepping stone gig.

Austin has been the graveyard of coaches since they fired Darrel Royal in the mid-70s. Charlie Strong will be just fine when he gets the hell out of there. The more interesting question is how attractive will that job really be? While the shag might think that 04-09 is the natural order of things in college football, most coaches know UT's history since the early 70s says otherwise. Given the massive disconnect between reality and expectations, I just don't see an elite coach wanting to go through that revolving door regardless of how much money Red McCombs tries to throw at him.

This was literally the perfect recipe for longhorn tears: a couple of close losses to ranked teams that had a few questionable calls so that they could blame the losses on the refs........just enough for that legendary longhorn hubris to start building and predicting a win at TCU.............TCU comes out and curb stomps them. And the baggy bevo is back!
