Unless Cook really shows himself at pre-draft camps, I do not think he will go as a late 1st or early 2nd round pick but you have proven me wrong before so we shall see:wink2: . I am not sure if you will be drafted at all.

Yeah I don't think I will be drafted either...:tongue2:

As for Cook his stock just continues to drop...I am really hoping that he gets smart and returns, or he is going to be taking a gigantic risk...

Cook needs to play himself into the draft (ie first round) in my opinion......he is projected all over the place....mid first round to mid second round....the NBA camp will tell the story.......it is a calculated risk at this point, he still has not signed with an agent so their is a fall back plan if he hears the wrong things after the camp.

I am no longer seeing him anywhere near middle first round...I have seen him sneeking in the end of round 1, but am hearing more mid 2nd...

It is ashame for someone if they would come back be a star, could get himself some lottery talk, maybe a shoe deal or something like that if he really improves his game...Instead of a lowly 2nd round deal, where he is going to be banking on a big 2nd contract that will really get him what he wants...

Might not even be a lowly second round deal. There is no guaranteed contract if he doesn't make the team.

It would be nice if one of the NBA guys would sit him down and say this year you will probably be a 2nd round pick, if you get picked at all. If you go back and play another year of college and have a great year you could be a lottery pick next year. Either that or have Darius Walker talk to him. :p

teams will be willing to put him in the freezer. it will be interesting whether or not he gets picked by a team who is willing to put him there.

That is wha they will do, and while he thinks he can go get paid and improve, look at what Ager from MSU did this year...He got picked by the Mavs at the end of the last round and unless you watch the NBA on a regular basis you have no idea that he is on their team, b/c the only time he gets in is in a blow out...

There are alot here that watched the Warriors/Mavs series, due to the excitement of it, but probably didnt know that Maurice Ager was the Mavs first round draft pick...If he would of went back, he would of made that MSU team that much better, competed for the big ten championship on a national stage, been the number 1 option on the team and put up nice stats and been looking at a mid first round pick this year...You could also say the same thing for his teammate from last year that did nothing but play margianl minutes for the Cavs, not seeing minutes in probably 60 games this season, while not even getting to dress for the playoffs...

An example of one that it worked out for tho is Josh Howard who went thru the same process with the Mavs, but once again he probably wouldnt of had to go thru that process if he would have stayed another year...

A shame? You make it sound as if it's not his own fault. It is.

Being a second round draft pick when he could have gone back to school will probably work out for Gibson as well, but if he get seriously injured in his first 2 seasons with the Cavs he would only make around $1 mil for his career. I guess the only good thing for him is that he is getting to play as a rook.

Gibson has been lucky. He get drafted by an NBA team with a PG who does not have an outside jump shot and I am not talking about Hughes. He also might be lucky that Shannon Brown was injured for much of the season.
