Jim Mora Jr. fired by the Seahawks. E!spn is reporting Carroll is Seattle's top target and there's said to be "strong mutual interest" and it would be a "surprise" if he doesn't end up in Seattle. It's e!spn, so obviously TIFWIW. Could be interesting...

Carroll did not return messages, but a league source said Carroll is interested in the job and is trying to persuade USC offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates to join him in Seattle -- as opposed to Bates pursuing the same position with the Chicago Bears.

Said another source close to Carroll: "You're about to see a big headline that shakes up the major college football world," in reference to the Seahawks' development. The Seahawks did not confirm Carroll as a leading candidate but also did not deny it.

Starting to hear it...even on ESPN....that Pete is headed to Seattle. Sounds like it is almost a done deal?

ESPN now claims Pete is working his offensive coordinator (J. Bates) to go with him...Mortensen said it would a shock if Seattle didn't bring Carroll in..mutual interest all the way around. Morty also says it should all be wrapped up and announced early next week....

I don't think Prater was ever even offered. Not sure the staff has interest so long as Louis' commit remains solid.

True...I got ahead of myself there...just blown away by the rumor that Pete is moving on. ESPN is talking like it is all but a certainty that Pete is headed to Seattle.

The NCAA is perhaps closing in.....and now if Pete leaves ...this can't hurt our recruiting.....

Pete must see the writing on the wall. Heavy sanctions may be on the horizon for USC football.
