Sam "L" McGuffie (Olympic Bobsled Team)

I am changing the thread title since obviously most of you think Sam is being recruited as a RB and nothing else...which is simply not the case. Sam is being recruited as a SPEED prospect who could end up at any number of positions.

I've said it before, but I would really love to see this guy in scarlet and gray. We could use him in the slot position or in a ShotGinn type role. IMO, he needs to be on Offense because he's just absolutely explosive with the ball in his hands.

That's what Michigan fans want you to believe.

I sent a text to my buddy, scUM fan, in Dayton yesterday. Said JB Shugarts just committed to OSU, and is working on Sam McGuffie to join him in Columbus. I got the quickest response he's ever given, that had panic written all over it, sugar coated with "He's all maize and blue, Hart 4 Heisman." Is it still only April?

You won't get Mcguffie if he don't let him play rb. That's what he wants to play.

I suggest that you look up Harvin's rushing stats pal. Third on the team with 428 yards, 10+ YPC and that's in spite of the limited playing time early in the season.

This type of back needs to have a system established around them for them to reach their full potential. Quite frankly, I don't think Michigan will offer that kind of flexibility since their offense revolves around a big immobile QB at center, a bruiser at RB that Lloyd runs to death, and a couple of playmaking WRs.

Or is it that Kevin Grady just didn't quite fit the bill? 225 is hardly "done with big backs".... maybe since then you've gotten smaller, but i'd bet you'd take Chris Wells or Brandon Saine. And Hart takes a pounding like no other, you won't find his stature holding up in the Big Televen much more than a blue moon comes along. Nor will you see Hart clearing another Big Televen schedule.

CleveBucks is right...as smitty mentioned I have wondered for a while whether the staff would even look at Sam given their intentions with Devoe...but today's update mentions that Sam does not have a preference as far as position goes in college.
