Sam "L" McGuffie (Olympic Bobsled Team)

I was just watching Brian Leonard do the Leonard Leap with the Rams.

And I thought of McGuffie's leap, also.

The reason why Leonard's leaps work so well is because he's so heavy, DBs go low on him. That allows Brian to jump over them.

Sam is in fact much smaller than Brian was in college. The Malcolm Jenkins and Taylor Mays of college football are not going to hesitate one bit to go high on someone of McGuffie's size.

I think Sam should watch out with the leap and notice the difference in situation between him and Brian.

If he goes in thinking, "Brian Leonard does it, so can I," he's going to have a painful and rude awakening.

Senior RB keys Golden Eagles to wild 49-37 triumph over McGuffie, Cy-Fair

Sam McGuffie's extensive highlight reel has made the Cy-Fair running back an Internet star and with it came national recognition in the world of high school football. Before Thursday night, the same could not be said for Shane Turner.

While he didn't explode, McGuffie, a Michigan commitment, had a solid night in his own right, finishing with 163 yards on 31 carries and a touchdown. He only had one run over 20 yards, a 43-yarder that set up a third-quarter touchdown by Wesley Cobb (10 carries, 52 yards).

MLive.com: Everything Michigan

Jackson was also the lead recruiter for the Texan McGuffie, the nation's No. 9 all-purpose back this year, according to Rivals.com. Helmholdt said after speaking with his recruiting contacts in the Houston area that "McGuffie is the one guy I would say at this point I expect not to end up at Michigan."

Don't even both asking if OSU is interested...the staff wasn't then and I doubt they would be now.

Wilson, McGuffie, four other fellows listed as 50-50, including Cisokko?

Buy for the moment the contention that losing mCGuffie leaves them with a top 10 class in AA. What would happen with all those players in play slipping through TSUN's fingers?

In one of Francioni's controversial E-mails to big-money A&M doners, Francioni made a comment that appeared to be directed at McGuffie. Something to the effect of "His recruitment is far from over". With Francioni in trouble, I'm not sure McGuffie ends up at A&M but it just goes to show, some think McGuffie has always been in play.

tsun radio host sam webb stated earlier today that RR still has yet to even contact McGuffie by phone.

The coach is allowed to contact a recruit by phone once a week at this time of the year, is this still true?!?

Thought this was a recruiting dead time.

not that it matters to tOSU, they aren't offering to this guy anyways.

just another one slipping thru the scum fingers

You would think that McGuffie would do better in RR's offense than the traditional scum offense. Either way I dont much care who they recruit as long as that western PA guy is on our team.

He was in a traditional offense at Cypress and his highlight reel on you tube is sick...a bit small for a RB in the B10, right now, but a couple years in any B10 program and 210-215lbs is sweet with that crazy speed he has. 40yd 4.3?? I think...home run hitter extraordinaire.:yow1:
