Sam "L" McGuffie (Olympic Bobsled Team)

We pretty much expected this. I really liked his videos and the hype around McGuffie. On a positive note....The Big ten got the #1 Rated All Purpose back. This will compliment it already having the Best Overall Back(Devoe).

Maybe scUM will win a bowl game in the up coming years.

Good Luck Sam!

From earlier in the thread:

"From what Sam is telling staff and JB Shugarts, I wouldn't count him as a lock... Awful lot of pandering for an offer from Sam..."

"I want an offer from Ohio State too," said McGuffie, who benches 340 pounds, squats 500 and power cleans 305. "I'm really waiting for that offer too... It would be a hard decision if I got an offer from Ohio State and USC."

Sounds to me like he wanted to go to OSU or at least was very interested, but didn't receive it for one reason or another, likely him not coming to camp. Am I mistaken?

Many feel that he wanted the OSU offer to "pad his offer sheet" and not that he really was going to consider Ohio State in the end. Even if he had considered us it would have taken something AMAZING to turn him from going Blue.

Best of luck to the kid.

This feels to me like one we'll regret in the future. I can just picture Musburger in the pre-game intros, "He wanted to go to OSU with his friend J.B. Shugarts, but they didn't think he was big enough. Now he's out to get revenge, it's Michigan versus Ohio State..."

I hope I am wrong, and I have enough faith in the staff to believe that Tress has reason enough to go another way, likely his failed trip up to Columbus for camp.

I highly doubt you will hear anything like that...several of us mentioned that Sam seemed more interested in the notion of having an offer from OSU than he was in actually attending OSU.

Best of luck to Sam at Michigan...

Copied from and e-mail from GoBlue Wolverine. You would think this kid was the second coming of Barry Sanders.

Is Michigan primed to get the nation's #1 RB tonight?

Houston Cy-Fair running Sam McGuffie missed the notoriety he'd have gotten had he attended the nearby Army Junior Combine last January -- but those who have seen both McGuffie and the other top high school backs in the country in action agree he's number one.

Get this: 5-11, 195 lbs., 4.3 sec. 40 (combine tested) and an amazing 3.7 shuttle ... plus a 6-8 high jump, a 24-foot long jump. He gained over 3,000 linebacker-leaping yards as a junior in Texas Class 5-A football. And on a recent film on Scout.com he did a front handspring OVER 6-7 lineman J.B. Shugarts.

***And, he is announcing TONIGHT, at 10:30 PM Central Time***

***Only one Michigan website has ever -- EVER -- talked to McGuffie, GoBlueWolverine.com. And McGuffie has been in communication with us in the past 24 hours.***

HAHAHA they made it sound like JB was standing tall and giving a salute.

He wasn't crouched over or anything. Because if he was than that statement would be misleading.

Just... WOW. I've heard very few shuttles that are that fast. For those that may not know, that is unbelievable. Not like the 40-time or the long/high jump are any weaker... Good luck Sam.

I kind of question how GoBlueWolverine.com can say they are the ONLY website to EVER talk to McGuffie....

Cy Fair lost their first game of the season. McGuffie left the game early
with a high-ankle sprain and didn't return. Ended up with 66 yards on 11 carries.

Man that stinks. Hope he gets well soon.

On the flip side, I'm sure this gave him plenty of time to sit down and watch his future team play their "Hart's" out

Watch the video:

Near the end of the clip the commentator says that the Strake QB hasn't thrown an interception all year....but the video they are showing is that of the Strake QB throwing and interception.....lol
