That brings up another question. When will Ray Rice get his place in the Ravens Ring of Honor? I mean, Art Modell, Ray Lewis, and Jamal Lewis are already in there..... High character obviously not an entrance requirement.

If the 2nd tape was really sent to the NFL, and Goodell watched it (which I really can't believe he would not) why in the H would he be so lenient on Ray Rice? It make no sense at all, he's risking a 44+ MILLION a year job.
Did he feel sorry for his wife?
Did she tell him, that she and her kid would be hurt more by a severe punishment to Ray than anybody?
And that she was just as responsible for the incident as Ray, and she was drunk and it was more the alcohol than a punch?

Now is Goodell flat out lying? Did he see both tapes, and is lying about it? Really makes no sense at all! But somehow with all his $$$$ and connections he will likely keep his Job.

First off, Goodell makes Nixon sound forthcoming.
Second, he's smart enough to not watch it himself. Somebody else there probably watched it and then told one of his assistants or glorified secretaries.
Every corporate bigwig these days is well versed in maintaining「Plausible Deniability」

Yeah - there is no way he would have ordered any investigation if there was a witness to or record of him watching that video.

I still don't see why the video mattered this much. We knew Ray Rice hit her, knocked her out and was dragging her by her head and torso out of the elevator. He should have been banned from the beginning. All the video did was allow the subject to blow back up in Goddell's face.

He's an incompetent boob in a job that is seriously hard to fuck up this badly.

I hear ya, but that excuse is even more absurd when you take the saints investigation into account. The league puts together 1800 pages of reports and didn't investigate this beyond what they saw online? There's no way.

Considering Sean Payton got a one year unpaid vacation under the guise that ignorance is not an excuse, goodell claiming ignorance now since all his lies have been revealed is even more comical.

Only for those that believe his sketchy, dog ate my homework, type story about how not smoking weed led to a drug test failure for smoking weed.

His suspension will be reduced. If those others you listed are found guilty they won't be playing. The 2 aren't mutually exclusive - one has a well-established program, the other should have but did not but is also administered outside of the NFL.
