Losing to his rival is fine, but I hope that he doesn't do to Michigan what he's done to WVU. He has left at least the impression of taint on the Mountaineer program. Any taint on Michigan is taint on The Game. No thanks.

As a 3rd generation Buckeye fan, I'm not delighting in this in the least. A black mark on TSUN is bad for the conference. We need a strong rival. The conference needs a strong team from TSUN.

I'm hoping they cut their losses here and find a less controversial figure to lead their program.

I can't believe the mess this is becoming.

From one 3rd generation Buckeye to another; well said.

Can anybody see this getting to a point that's so bad that tsun will see the need to cut ties with him and move on? If so, you would think it would have to be soon...

It is hard to imagine Michigan making a change at this point....it would have to be some very damaging for them to fire RR.....they made their bed....let them sleep in it.

A good question that a TSUN supporter might want to answer. Personally, I think if he is found to have committed a legal violation of some kind or to be covering up an NCAA violation that's about the only time they will turn him out.

One has to wonder, given Grad21's comments about this guy years ago, did Martin and his TSUN selection committee do a proper due diligence on RR or did they panic at being turned down by Miles and others and select a guy that had a team in a BCS bowl and put his hand up, thinking they had saved face.

Whose arrogance is the root cause of this mess? RR or TSUN sports administration?

I think it would have to get much, much worse. Michigan's too arrogant. At this point, Michigan is probably pretty certain that the "Michigan name" will ultimately trump all of this unpleasantness. I think you'd have to see pretty substantial evidence of criminal or NCAA wrongdoing on Douche Rod's part for them to take the pr hit of cutting him loose, throwing their program into absolute turmoil (remember they've whacked all of their existing assistant coaches) and admitting they were wrong in the first place.

Well said, and I agree - but here is why I am delighting.

UM already earned their black mark when they hired RR - they just didn't realize it. RR is not a kid who will learn from his mistakes and change his character. He has the arrogance of CW without his integrity. He will win at UM, but not without cost to their program. The quicker he is gone the better.

To me he's more of a Barry Switzer than a Tom Osborne. Osborne tried to cover his sleaziness up with the facade of a humble, midwestern churchgoer. Switzer was just blatant, in your face, unapologetically dirty and self-serving. That's how I view Douche Rod.

I do believe that the UM alumni and faculty will run him off when it truly dawns on them what they've crawled into bed with, but that's going to take a couple of years.

The last time I remember a Coach getting hammered this much by the media and the majority of national fanbases jumping in the Kool-Aid with both feet was when Jim Tressel was being accused of all sorts of things during the MoC days...

Try pointing that out to scUM fans. They don't see the parallel because JT's a real criminal and DickRod is just the victim of a "witchhunt". :roll1:
