i understand where your coming from however i think your statement held true until cooper let Kat where 45. Cooper should of not let that happen.. but when you think about it what coach would tell their biggest recruit no to a number that wasnt retired. If chris wells wanted to wear 45 and it wasnt retired tressel wouldnt say no.
Thats where winning a Heisman should give a player the recognition of never having another buckeye wear your number, not to mention having your name hung next to that number never to be wore again in the shoe.
A couple things wrong with what you just said.
The number was not retired when Big Kat wore it, and he asked Archie permission to wear it. Even though it wasn't retired.
Plus if Wells wanted to wear it, and he asked Archie, I'm sure Archie would let him wear it.
