JFC, doubling down on some Reds/Nats action with a splash of Pirates and O's for flavor. You sir are one sick bastard.
I'd either pass out drunk or be removed by security (or both) by the 7th inning of the Friday game. No way I make it through all 4.
I happen to think that lineup is genius. If the bucket list goal is to see a game in every park, attending this shit will ensure a person fully experiences everything the park and its surrounding neighborhoods have to offer, because after the 4th inning anyone would be done watching the baseball.
I got a chance to go to Arizona and catch a game at The BOB in 2000. Curt Schilling was pitching that night and they were playing the Expos, so it was a no brainer to be in Phoenix for work and take in a showdown of Curt Schilling v Vladimir Guerrero, when both were at or near their peaks. Of course, for about six innings of the contest the talk in my section was about
Wilton Guerrero standing out in left compulsively picking his underwear out of his ass crack. Maybe he figured the 5,000 people sitting behind him weren't going to notice? Well, anyway, the point is Schilling pitched that night and only allowed two runs en route to pitching a complete game. I never left my seat.
After I left, I got to thinking about it and was really disappointed it wasn't a lopsided laugher between opposing teams' 5th starters. I never got to explore the park! I passed up the opportunity to check out the famed swimming pool in right because I was mesmerized watching Wilton Guerrero pick his butt. Now that I think about it, seeing Curt Schilling pitch a complete game is no big deal either. He did that all the fucking time. I'd much rather have been there for the game Mark Grace pitched, then I'd really have a great story to tell.
And yes, I know they call it Chase Field now. Fuck them. It'll always be The BOB to me.
