Reds tidbits (2010 season)

Well, all good things....

Look, I thought you all were a year away going into this season, and while they won the NL Central, I think this series kind of proved that. When they faced the "elite" of the NL, the Reds had issues and this series was no different.

Having the best offense is usually not a good omen unless that was also coupled with great pitching. The Reds pitching wasn't great yet. The NL Central is there for the taking next year unless the Cardinals splurge unexpectedly, so maybe your front office won't go crazy in chasing a pennant and instead sticks to their plan.

If you had told me in March that Great American Ballpark would host a Reds baseball game on Oct 10, I'd have asked where I can get some of those drugs.

Ugly and disappointing end, but it shouldn't tarnish an otherwise great season. Game 2 was winnable, as was Game 3, but the club really wilted under the pressure. Rolen was especially disappointing the entire series.

These kids weren't quite ready for prime time, but they'll get there. They're a lot closer than I thought they'd be.

Bruce barely made it under the arbitration line. Looks like he's going to get a big pay boost this season. He probably deserves it the way he ended the season. We would like to see him stay healthy for a full season next year though and bring in a great RF player to sure up the outfield. If Stubbs gets a bit more patient at the plate, he'll be just fine in Center.

So does this mean they aren't moving him to LF and bringing Alonzo up?
Naw, that'd be a waste of his talents and value.

I heard they were going to clear room for Alonzo by shipping Votto to Pittsburgh for a left-handed, fly-ball pitching fifth starter with a career ERA of 6.00.

O.k well as long as they don't do anything stupid.
