Bailey is not going to do anything in this series. No need to send down Fransisco today unless it's a reliever or another infielder.

No, but they will likely use him by this time next week if his next rehab start goes well.

I still don't think you'll see Chapman anytime soon....

Looks like Francisco won't be sent down anyway, so the point is moot.

As for Chapman, I agree. I don't think we will see him until September. I was just wondering since the rumor at the time was Wood AND Francisco were going down.

jax happy about a move that brings a "veteran presence", a "consummate professional", and a guy who will "give you professional at-bats" in exchange for a prospect.

What has the world come to?

Gomes vs Carpenter: 0 for 7
Edmonds vs Carpenter: 7 for 20

in all fairness, Edmonds is replacing Heisey. Nix was going in for Gomes tonight trade or no trade.

Sadly, if that is the plan for the rest of this year I hate this trade. Edmonds is no longer a CF, and less Heisey with just as much Gomes would tick me off.

Looks like you nailed it.

Cincinnati.Com | Cincinnati Enquirer | Cincinnati Reds ? Jocketty on the trade
?I think Dusty (Baker) will use him some in center field, some in right field. He can give Joey (Votto) a day off at first if we need that. He also gives us another good pinch-hitter.?

So he'll play CF, RF and 1B, but not LF.

Well, I guess less-Bruce is a good thing too.

Which has been my fear all along. Heisey actually hits RH pitching really well, and is better than Edmonds in the field. Against right handed pitching Edmonds is a big plus over Gomes, but sadly putting him in CF, RF, or 1B does little to nothing. We'll see. Maybe they will come to the realization Gomes brings next to nothing against RH pitching and is a liability in the field.

In exchange for a fragile suspect, not prospect.:wink2:

Any joy I had was immediately killed by The Dusty. Using Edmonds in exactly the worst possible way, I guess I should have expected nothing less.

We need a facepalm emoticon.

Ugh. I wish Reds fans had a little more pride. I'm sitting here at the park and the crowd gave Pujols a fucking ovation when he was finished with batting practice. Gee Albert, thank you for descending upon our fair town and bestowing on us an exhibition of your greatness. :shake:

Also, there's a guy in a Bengals jersey that I wanna kick in the balls. The Reds are in first place and you can't even muster a red t-shirt?!

Pretty much the pitching duel I figured it would be thus far. No score in the 4th but the Cards have Pujols at the plate, man on 2nd with no outs.

I do like the fact that Leake attacks Albert instead of tip-toeing around him. Just gave up a single there but he was ahead in the count 0-2. 1st and 3rd, still no outs and Holliday up.
