RB TreVeyon Henderson (Official Thread)

Kinda shocked that anyone is worried about his carries last night. He could've run for 300, but I'd rather they give him rest so he doesn't hit that freshman wall. He'll be seeing a lot of carries in the conference slate and I have a feeling he'll be having some monster games. As much as we'd all have loved to see him get 185 and 4 TDs, no need to tax him with 8 more carries in meaningless snaps.

I loved the staff's handling of that situation, perfect time to let him rest in that situation. There will be plenty of games where we need 20-30 carries from him and he'll rack up stats like Madden...this was simply not one of then and our other backs deserve carries with the work they've put in and their own respective talents. To me, this was the best of both worlds...Tre racks up almost 100 yards on only 8 carries and doesn't absorb the hits.

What? Pork shoulder or Spam? Pork shoulder is also called pork butt but it’s the shoulder. The actual butt is where you get ham. If you’ve ever had BBQ pulled pork, you’ve had pork shoulder. If you’re talking about Spam then you’re not really missing anything. It’s very popular among Hawaiians, though.
I knew I shouldn’t try reading Ulysses again.

As I recall, redder reds, bluer blues, checkier checks along with philosophical discussions about hot fudge sundaes and HoJo's orange juice and orange sherbert drink.
Probably a subject for another thread. But all your senses were enhanced. And looking at a white light was like looking through a prism with it distorted into a rainbow from red to blue. And while you were peaking it was hard to have a conversation because your mind was moving faster than your mouth could speak.

If you ever find yourself in the company of friends tripping on acid or shrooms, play some Pink Floyd and peel some oranges for them.

TreVeyon is the highest RB in the Heisman Race.

Pfftt. A running back who can't get 100 yards against Akron doesn't deserve to win any Heismans or NIL money or anything.

(I'm joking! We all know he would have run for 450 if had had stayed in the game, and he'll get a long highlight reel to show the voters by the end of October.)

"I think that we're four games in and we're going to continue to learn more as the time goes on, but he needs to first off just focus on taking care of that football — that's the first thing," Day said. "He's got to take care of the little things, in terms of protection, making the right reads and preparing, just like everybody else. You can see his ability to, like you said, be special and take the ball from the second level to the third level to score a touchdown. And he's a home-run threat and that's good, but that doesn't work without our offensive line. I think he understands how important this is — it's team football. And whether it's covering Chris (Olave) and Garrett (Wilson) on the outside of the offensive line blocking up front, this is a team effort. And I think our offense is embracing that. I think we're unselfish. And I think they understand that, in order for us to be good on offense, we have to be balanced. But again, this is just the start for him. He's only four games in. I think he's better now than he was four weeks ago. And I think the whole running back room is, too. And I think it's got to be a strength for us as we move forward. But we'll see. Still got a long season ahead of us. And so, we'll keep growing on it."

Day went on to talk about what makes an impactful true freshman.

"I think when you combine maturity and talent and production, then you have something special," Day said. "And I'm excited to say that I see that in some of these guys, which is great. Not just the young guys, I see it in a lot of our guys. See it in the older guys, some of the experienced players who have been around and that's great. But it is exciting to know that the future's really, really bright and you have talented young men who have had maturity and have a seriousness and focus and approach like some of the guys on our team and that's exciting. There's obviously some mentoring that's going on across the board right now for some of these guys, and that's right. And so, the more we can build on that, the brighter the future's going to be."
