RB TreVeyon Henderson (Official Thread)

TREVEYON HENDERSON LEAVES GAME AFTER TAKING BIG HIT IN FIRST QUARTER AGAINST RUTGERS

TreVeyon Henderson's day is likely done early for Ohio State.

On a second-down carry late in the first quarter of Saturday's matchup with Rutgers, the Buckeyes' starting running back absorbed a hard hit and immediately came out of the game. Henderson was tended to by trainers on the bench before heading to the medical tent, but the true freshman eventually returned to the sideline without his helmet in hand.

Could care less about awards for him, just want him to stay healthy all season and not hit a wall after being out all last year. Also want him fresh for a B1G title run and possible CFP appearance.

Yeah, team wins and championships are more important than individual awards. Regardless of any team awards we want to see all the Ohio State players put up the big numbers that would earn the individual award.

We all (that was alive back then) really wanted to see Archie win it in 74 & 74, Eddie win it in 95, and Troy win it in 06, didn't we? Let's admit it, you really would like to see TreVeyon win one too, wouldn't you? Maybe not this year, but in the next 2 or 3 years, etc. Players should strive to make themselves and the team better (i.e. not necessarily to win individual awards). However, you if work hard and put up the numbers the individual awards may come too.

Yeah I think the slow start and this 2 week span is good as long as the injury isn't too bad. I find it crazy he's this good without playing last year.

Hopefully he gets 100+ building a good lead on Maryland and he doesn't have too many carries next week.

I agree with everything that you stated. But my original post was more that I want Henderson fresh for the rest of the season and not get beat up in blowouts just for the sake of stats. Sure he could've had 200+yds in the last 2 games, but I don't think Day sees the point in giving him 25-30 carries for each game when the games were already over by halftime. Give Teague, Crowley and Pryor touches. I would love to see Henderson hoist a Heisman, Doak Walker, etc in the next few years. But I just want him to finish a successful season healthy more importantly

He looked so anxious to get in the game yesterday after he was pulled. No doubt if the game was in doubt he plays. I wonder what 20 carries a game looks like for him.

What is so cool with his game is he's similar to Zeke in that he runs through contact and always falls forward. Turns a ton of 3 yard runs into 6 or 7 and then obviously if he has a crease it's a house call from anywhere on the field. In other words he doesn't look for the home runs but just stays patient and when the opportunity comes he rarely misses.
