RB Michael Weber (New Jersey Generals)

Cass Tech coach Thomas Wilcher asked on @DSports1051 if he's upset at Urban Meyer, he says "that's where it starts."

Nick Baumgardner @nickbaumgardner · 27m27 minutes ago
Wilcher: "I can tell you right now Mike Weber's not happy, Mike Weber's family is not happy."

Nick Baumgardner @nickbaumgardner · 26m26 minutes ago
Wilcher: "I think it's a black eye on the university -- they're out there getting these young men on false pretenses, and that's just it."

Nick Baumgardner @nickbaumgardner · 26m26 minutes ago
Wilcher's upset because Weber now has to live in Michigan w/ a bunch of people saying "I told you so."

Nick Baumgardner @nickbaumgardner · 25m25 minutes ago
Wilcher: "He's got a heavy heart, and I feel bad for him. But we'll work through this and do whatever we have to do" to make sure he's happy

Nick Baumgardner @nickbaumgardner · 25m25 minutes ago
Wilcher says he, Weber and Weber's parents haven't talked about whether or not he'll be at Ohio State.

Nick Baumgardner @nickbaumgardner · 24m24 minutes ago
Wilcher says it's his understanding that if Ohio State releases Weber, he won't have to sit out. He's not commenting on any of that further

Nick Baumgardner @nickbaumgardner · 21m21 minutes ago
Wilcher: "My efforts now are not going to be with coach Meyer (and Ohio State), they'll be with Mike Weber, trying to get his spirits up"

Cass Tech coach Thomas Wilcher on whether Ohio State mislead Mike Weber: "Yes. 100 percent." More coming.

I'm on record about how I feel regarding what Drayton and Meyer did here. I don't like it. But Wilcher has unclean hands as well. He was dishonest with Ohio State several times within the last week and it sounds like he actively recruited Weber to go to Michigan against his commitment to Ohio State.

That's not to say that I don't understand Weber being upset. He seems to be somewhat of an innocent pawn in this game.

This was not handled correctly, but good lord. Talk about somebody blowing something completely out of proportion (The coach is who I'm referring to).

I feel bad for Mike because it sucks to lose his position coach in what seems to be a bit of a sneaky move, but was Drayton really the main reason he was coming to OSU? If it was I'd have to question how well he thought this through.

See where I disagree is if what if Stan was the tipping point? Like both schools equally, but had a much better relationship with Stan. Or what if it was the TRUST he had with the coaches, one that he may not have had at UM particularly when they got that other RB? Well, that just went down hill.

I think a lot of people like yourself are only looking at "oh the position coach left, that's not a huge deal" and overlooking the actual fact of "oh, the position coach who I trusted just left for a different position the day after I committed to him for a 4 year life changing deal. And he at least knew of the possibility of it happening before and didn't tell me."

Neither Weber nor any other recruit in an "innocent pawn". No coach should be held hostage to stay at his job--his job, which provides for his family--because of fear of upsetting a 16- or 17-year old kid who may not even sign with his school. Now, if Drayton flat out told Weber that he would be coaching at Ohio State for the 2015 season, then Weber and his high school coach would have a valid reason to be upset and feel misled. Other than that, I see little wrong with "how this was handled"...
