The thing with Wells is, if he avoids that injury his senior year and replicates his junior year, he's most likely Florida's Mr. Football and a top 2-3 running back recruit in the nation. This is the same kid that Conley called the top high school RB he's seen in a long time, that he supposedly offered without talking it over with Coach Tressel. Wells is a big-time recruit that saw his stock drop with the "experts" a bit his senior year due to injuries and a resulting lack of numbers. That doesn't change the fact that he was the best tailback in Florida as a junior. I'm definitely expecting big things for Wells this year. Size is overrated (see: Ross, Lydell).

I don't want to be a downer here, as I expect this kid to start much sooner then everyone else on this board. But most people blame the missing games on injury which is true, but didn't he also miss (or maybe just didn't start?) due to disciplionary reasons? I never heard what they were has anyone?

Sandalwood caught Fletcher by surprise in its initial drive of the game as senior Cory Mathews opened the game at tailback in place of Wells. The Saints' running back sat out the entire quarter due to what Geis called, "an in-house problem that we needed to take care of." On Matthews second carry, he went up the middle, side-stepped two defenders and raced 66 yards to the end zone.

well I think the kid will learn how to hold on to the ball when he's being run down by our defense! We can teach the kid to hold onto the ball, but what we can't teach him is what he already has (speed) the more speed we can get on the field the more excited I am about our offense. How many carries you guys think he'll get against Miami (Oh)

Its a good point, but we were not to successful teaching this to 2 yard Ross

:lol: you're VERY correct with that one. Man everytime he touched the ball I held my breath until he hit the ground (thank god that wasn't too long). lol. Anyways hopefully the kid can come in and get some kick returns or something to help keep Ginn/Holmes fresh!?

whats up everyone... i actually stay in jacksonville where he played his high school football and played for the same school... this guy is a beast... i know that he played against other high school players but he did nothing but shine the whole time he was on the field... our coach pretty much made the playbook around him... we played some of the biggest schools in florida and he did exactly what he did to everyone else... out run them and also lay a hit... i know that haw and pittman should be able to produce but i have confidence in Mo that he will shine in the next level...

it was due to him almost fighting earlier that week but it was only for the first quarter anyway...

welcome aboard stthegreat04! so who do you go for at the college level? and tell us more about his speed? how is he in the open field? that kind of stuff? I saw him play one time and I believe he went for around 200 but he was taken out early so I didn't get to see much cuz I arrived late.

we were playing one game and he seemed like he was about to get swarmed by 4 players from the other team and all of a sudden you see him side step two of them and he out ran the other two... he has the speed and vision that you look for in a back... he started in his sophmore year when our other star back decided to jump schools so Mo came in and in only 5 games he ran 997yards...

Bit of a tangent... How's his blocking? This isn't something that gets a lot of talk, but if he has trouble identifying and picking up a blitz, it might take a bit longer to see the field.

I imply nothing, just seeking info. From everything I've been hearing, he's on a mission to make sure he's game-ready from day one. Sounds like just the kind of young man we need :).

yeah I've had that "gut feeling" since February 4th and he signed that letter of Intent. I honestly think he'll gain around 500 yards and also be a threat as a reciever as well.

I just thought of a play tell me what you guys think... Put Hall/Lyons (two biggest recievers) on one side and have Wells motion to there side and do a quick pass out to him and let him have 2 lead blockers against 2 Db's!!
