That's Troy Smith....I thought they were just a folk tale meant to scare tsun children.
Nah that was recent history.. The legends are from the days of yore.
Meyer said freshman running back Ezekiel Elliott is right there with Rod Smith behind Carlos Hyde and the hobbled Jordan Hall in the backfield rotation. He loves what Elliott has shown this season, on and off the field. “He’s a guy who has an incredible future,” Meyer said. He then talked about how much offensive coordinator Tom Herman loves Elliott, then mentioned how Elliott shows up early for meetings and pays attention. “That kid is on point with everything he does, and on top of that he’s blessed with ability.”
“If you asked me five years ago and I knew Ezekiel would have been a Division I prospect, I would have told you he would probably go to Mizzou or Notre Dame,” Stacy said. “But the Urban Meyer factor and the offense that he runs is perfect for Ezekiel. It was an opportunity that was just very hard to turn down.”
Elliott hasn't had enough face time, but Meyer gives him great reviews – sometimes unprompted – every chance he gets. When Hyde departs at the end of this year, Elliott should get a better chance to shine in Ohio State's offense.
But at least for the first Ohio State-Michigan game the two will play in, Green will have the bigger role.
“I believe at times Ezekiel may get a little frustrated because he hasn't played more, but I also believe that Ezekiel is patient enough and understands that his time is coming,” Stacy said. “I am excited about what I am hearing from Ezekiel and what I am seeing. The future looks bright.”
Love the way he runs. I'm ready for the 2014 season.
Go Bucks! O-H
Reminds me of Pittman when he runs, but he has the build of Boom Herron. Im really impressed by his size; his weight is perfect for both speed and strength. He will be an absolute beast next year in the rotation.
I was talking to a UC fan last night and he mentioned being worried about playing tOSU next year, but then paused and said, "At least you won't have Hyde." He was shocked when I said I wasn't worried because I think Elliot will be better. He is plenty strong and I don't know if I've ever seen a back with his size with that kind of speed. I'd like to have seen more of him this year, but cannot wait for next.I like his style too. I just feel like he is gonna be a special player by the time he leaves tOSU. He just seems to be a solid kid with a great work ethic. Already becoming a favorite.
I doubt he will be better than Hyde next year. But perhaps by year 3.I was talking to a UC fan last night and he mentioned being worried about playing tOSU next year, but then paused and said, "At least you won't have Hyde." He is way bigger than Herron. He almost reminds me of Eddie with his height.
You don't mean Eddie George? Eddie played at 6'3 230+, and EzE is closer to 6ft 210. Not exactly the same size. Much closer to Boom.
But regardless, I wish EzE all the success in the world and can't wait to see the competition for RB next year, just sick depth. Losing Hyde will be huge, but I'm hoping we find a guy to step up to the plate.
