RB Ezekiel Elliott (All B1G, All-American, National Champion, Pro Bowl, All Pro, Dallas Cowboys)

11w, with a good article on EzE and thoughts on an increased load in 2014. Can't wait to hear more about him. Getting bigger, and hopefully he keeps his speed, that Track speed (combined with his solid frame)he has sets him apart from the rest of RBs we have.

Re: Well, tonight on ESPN's Monday Night Countdown Segment "C'mon Man" Ezekiel Elliott's ferocious hit on Raheem Mostert was featured. Not so much the hit itself but one Purdue cheerleader's reaction to it.

Yeah, C'mon Man!!!

I don't claim to be an expert at evaluating football players. However, after seeing Carlos Hyde carry the ball a few times in 2010 I thought to myself this guy is going to be a good running back. I was more impressed with him than Saine, Herron or Hall. Hyde seemed to run with some authority and when he hit the pile, the pile moved forward.

Well, I'm even more impressed with Elliot. He doesn't quite have the power Hyde had (yet); however, he does seem to have the ability to move the pile forward. In addition, he seems to be faster, quicker, and more elusive than Hyde. I will say Elliot has a pretty high ceiling on how good he can be and he should have a pretty good season in 2014. He should be even better in 2015 & 2016. It would not surprise me that after his career at Ohio State is over, you hear Elliot used in the same sentence as Wells, Byars, and George when someone talks about great running back in Ohio State history. In my lifetime Griffin will probably always be a rung above everyone else.

I can't wait to see EzE next year. I have always been impressed with Rod Smith as well, I would think it is going to be a shoot out for the starting spot. The nice thing is if one goes down we have another to step in. I was really impressed with how E developed and improved from the beginning of the year to the end. He should be an incredible back if the injury bug stays away.

Here's hoping in that lifetime we get to see a challenger.

I guess it is possible.

A little over 10 years ago I do think Ohio State had one running back who had the potential to be a challenger; he had a very impressive Freshman year (on the football field).

However, needless to say, he "screwed up big time", and paid dearly for his mistakes:

Same here i was really impressed by Elliot the times he was on the field and one cannot forget he will have another offseason to get better and pack on size. If Elliot or Smith becomes the starter we will have a really good back up.

Agree. Elliott seems like he gets to the edge quick and when he makes the turn upfield, he kicks it in another gear and is gone. I'm expecting great things from him in '14. The spring game can't get here soon enough.

Mama elliott has already confirmed that he's up to 220, don't know how much bigger you want him without losing some speed. But I can agree well have a very good pair and spare. And for all we know it may not even be Smith, we still cant count out Dunn or Ball
