RB Eddie George - (1995 Heisman winner, CFB HOF, 4x Pro Bowl, HC Tenn St)

what would you guys think of Eddie as our runningback coach?

Great Idea, and I have good reason to think so.

My younger brother, a Major in the U.S. Army currently stationed at Ft. Gordon in Georgia has been saying he'd like to see Eddie as our RB coach ever since Tim Spencer left. When he and I went to the Iowa game this year, we stopped by the Hall-of-Fame Cafe for B&Ts and to see Karsatos and Lachey do their radio show on Friday evening. My brother shared his idea of Eddie as RB coach, and JK and JL both resonated with the idea big time. They are great guys by the way. They went out of their way to talk to our nephew (our sister's son, whom we took to his 1st game the next day).

So anyway, yeah. Good idea.

Not giving Dick Tressel any disrespect, but Eddie would probably be than old Dick. I don't know Dick Tressel's knowledge on the position of RB, but I would imagine it wouldn't be at the knowledge level that Eddie has.

Come on! Isn't this Dick Tressel's first year? Didn't Pittman turn into a complete stud? WTF?

I love Eddie George, but we have an undersized RB who dominated the second half of the season...and we're talking about how great it would be to replace our RB coach. Holy Fucking Hell!!!

Alright let me say this in a different way. In my mind, Eddie would be great as a assistant coach to the RB's. Just like Butch Reynolds is a assistant to Alan Johnson(I think thats the strength coach's name) on the Strength and Conditioning staff.

I loved Eddie's insight during halftime of the 2003 Fiesta Bowl when he and Warren Sapp were the in studio guests. Eddie is a great ambassador of this team and this University. I'd love to see him employed somehow by the University to stay as close to the program as he has. Eddie is not a "poser," he's a "promoter."

I don't think we need a replacemnt for Doc. He has done a good job and he has his Minny connections in recruiting.

But it is always nice to have former players the likes of Eddie roaming the sidlelines. I would love for him to get his foot in the door and get a job here on the sidelines. he would be agreat asset to recruiting and coaching. And he understands what buckeye football is all about. he can't be but 35 tho, so maybe in a couple years if Doc is ready to retire or someone takes off to bigger and better things he can come in.

This is the same way I have always felt about Spielman coming in and being one of the position coaches. You dont fire someone to make room, but it would sure be nice to have guys like this in the wings if one of our coaches go to bigger and better things.

There must be many jobs that Eddie George can do at Ohio State. Just like Archie Griffin has grown through time at Ohio State, I think we should find a home at OSU for Eddie. Look, I know he has his restaurant and other business interests, but I think we need to find a way to get him involved in the program. He is such a motivating figure, excellent example, and great Buckeye. Think of the impact he can have when talking to the incoming freshmen. Being a Buckeye is about having the right values and Eddie George has all the right values!

Yes. I believe he definitely is. I may be biased, though; being a Titans and Buckeyes fan. However, he rushed for over 10,000 yards in his career, and was the face of the Titans organization for many years. Other than last year (because he wasn't a starter the whole season), he rushed for 1,000+ yards in every season, except for one season (I think it was like 939 yards), and led the Titans to a Super Bowl appearance. He was a very classy guy, as well. I'm not sure if he'll be a first ballot hall of famer, but I do believe he will make it in by at least his third year of eligibility.

2865 attempts for 10,441 rushing yards and 68 TD's

268 receptions for 2227 yards and 10 TD's

Scored a TD in losing effort in the Superbowl.

Never in a lick of trouble. Model citizen and the face of many charities.

For eight years, when you thought of the Titans, two names came to mind. Eddie George and Steve McNair. That's it.

I think he'll get in.
