I don't think he's on an NFL roster... that's probably why he has more time for OSU.

I beat ya to it!

to tell you the truth, I had to double check that about him being on a roster. I had to go google it before making an ass of myself on here lol

Anyways, it really does suck that the injuries finally got to him over the years in the NFL. But with the Titans he was putting up 1,000 yard seasons throughout(with the exception of 2001 where he had over 900....still bouned back in 02 with another 1,000 yard season)

Whats everyones thoughts on him having a shot at the hall of fame.

Over 10,000 rushing yards?

If the Titans had one the Super Bowl against the Rams I'd say yes.... I think he may still get in but I don't think it will be on the first ballot. It pains me to think of him not getting in as he's my favorite Buckeye... when I lived up north I had a nice shrine to him in my OSU room... now it's just in boxes. :(

Bill Parcells says that running backs are like tires, once the tread wears off you just can't put it back on.

The Oilers/Titans got 8 terrific years and a Super Bowl appearance out of Eddie, which is about as good as anyone could have expected given he was doing the heavy lifting at the RB spot for 7 of his 8 years there. George could have extended his career a number of years if he'd been able to see a reduction in carries around 2001/02, but his opportunity to be a veteran back-up came about two seasons too late.

I lived in Houston for quite some time, and I was ecstatic to see that Eddie George was drafted by the Oilers. I was a die-hard fan when he was there, and still am one (even though they suck). I went to see them play the Ravens in the 2003 AFC Wild Card Game (his last win as a Titan), and one thing that will define him as a professional player to me was when McNair threw a pick, Eddie ran and tackled the guy. He left the game with a shoulder injury, and returned in the second half, and put the Titans in line for a 20-17 classic win.
