RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

I call BS on Tressel's call. It's gotta be a smokescreen, you'd be insane not to think JT would at least put him in for a few carries against a team like USC.

That, and you just don't say 'no' to a man the size of Beanie. I mean, I know it's Tressel, but still...

..unless he thinks USC may take a step to complacency after hearing the news.

The other possibility of course is that Ohio State might be doing the same thing.*

What I mean by that is between the OU game and some- let's call them execution issues- the national media bashing them for not winning big games and the last to NC games, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. You guys know the list...

The team psyche has to be getting to the point of wounded animal... not jsut disrespected... but... even beyond that...

If Tress was feeling a collective sigh of relief from the team at seeing Beanie at Practice yesterday, might be time to yank the rug back out from under them this morning.

I know that some of my best games that I've played were either because I wasnt' feeling my best and not sure if I was going to be able to go, or if one of my teammates was out and the focus was extra sharp.

Of course, you know... his teammates are going to have a better feel about whether he's going to play than anyone else...but the more reason they have to believe that he won't OR that he'll be severly limited, the more they'll realize that they have to pick up more of the load.

Also, it strikes me as odd that Tress would make himself available to the media for these comments at all if it wasn't one of the two things mentioned here. Tress, generally is a "I'll talk to the media when I have to" kind of guy (He's not Bellichik, but, he's not a yapper either)... so... we'll see I guess.

My gut tends to be that its 25% that he won't play and a coin toss on effectiveness right now.

I think Tress wants the team to be mentally prepared to be without him.

Should he have to fire them up? Of course not, but, there's a tool at his disposal, if he's using it to get in either or both team's head... I don't blame him.

*Not a bash, just a comment on psychology.

I dont know, tressel doesnt really play mind games with people. If its something that could possible hurt his future in the NFL I dont see him playing him. I think he will suit up but not play. Man I hope he plays.

You all are reading WAY TOO MUCH into this.

Beanie is doubtful. Even Tressel said 2 days ago...we will have to see how sore it gets. Well it got REALLY sore. So he's probably not going to play. I think this was a likely scenerio the whole time. If Beanie isn't in pads on the sideline in two days, don't be shocked. BUT DONT BE WORRIED EITHER. We have other playmakers on this offense, and they will step up. And...unless i'm mistaken...our defense is the best in the country. I hope Beanie is healthy soon...but we win this game up front on both sides of the ball.

I didn't want to have to do this, but here goes.

I'll suit up. I may not be as fast, strong, tall, or weigh as much, but I do have a downright nasty stiff arm, and I can make a really mean face. It scares the shit out of my nephew. Ray Malualalauaalaga, be afraid...be very afraid.

Don't underestimate yourself. You are a fat drunk. It's a double whammy on the field. Your whiskey-soaked breath can stun em just long enough for you to sit on em and hold em down. That way, you can pop a cold one while the Bucks make a td.
The scariest thing I ever imagined was BUCKYLE on a swing pass...

I just hope he gets to play. Doubtful doesnt mean much now a days. Being as crazy into fantasy football as I am, I've seen many "doubtful" people play, and play well. I hope he is in the 50-75% range, then he'll be effective.

without reading too much into what everyone is saying, I think it really comes down to two things here

A. Beanie is going to play

B. Beanie is not going to play

Either way we still have to play USC on Sat. night. and so forth.

Well said, can we beat USC without Beanie of course, do we want to have him play hell yeah, but it is what it is. Just have to have a good game plan and we win.

1. I'm not fat. Haven't been for ten years now. :(

2. I don't drink during games. I'd imagine that would be more so if I were playing.

3. If I popped a cold one for every Bucks TD, I'd be wasted by halftime, and I have a pretty good tolerance.
