RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

I'm not losing sleep over it but after reading that article I'd say we will see him back at tOSU next year. He hasn't fulfilled his mission "to be the Best Buckeye" ever at tOSU. The lure of money is strong but the passion for his school and the game is stronger.

Either way, I'm sure we wish Beanie the best in whatever decision he makes. I hope he comes back for the same reasons that JL, MJ, and others returned last year. If he goes, I hope the Lions don't take him!

I hope the Bengals don't take them......COME ON BROWNIES!!! :)

Tony has been kind of speaking with Beanie as far as the whole NFL thing. Tony wishes he stayed in school, he's fulfulling his dream by playing in the NFL, but he told him that the business side of the NFL is taking away from the love of the game. He also told him that he loves being able to provide for his family, but there is no experience like playing college football. Beanie really truly wants to come back, but his large family is more motivation for him to go. We had a recent discussion about it, and he was nearly in tears, because of what OSU means to him.

I feel like he'll be back, but don't hold me to that.

Not to sound like a smartass, but this is probably exactly how a lot of us figure the discussion would go. But it's still shocking to hear it from a real source. Beanie is simply a true Buckeye.

Good stuff. If Beanie had different circumstances with his family and all I'd say he was a lock to be back. As a Buckeye fan and a fan of Beanie I hope that he does what is best for himself and his family. I think that involves him moving on. Tressel is doing everything but flat out telling him to go, you have to think that JT understands the full scope of things. Beanie is a great kid, and has had a great influence on Ohio State football. I will certainly understand if he feels obligated to move onward. I think he'll be a fine NFL back. His window is limited I think, he has got to cash in.

Nice post.

Obviously as fans we all want him back, but that window of opportunity for RB's is too short not to take advantage now. If Beanie goes, it will in no way affect the way the fans feel about him. His exploits against scUM are already legendary, and it that essence, he has already accomplished his goal of "greatest ever" in the Buckeye game that means the most.

Whatever he decides, the Buckeye Nation will support him.

Peace.

Beany

This may have already been mentioned, but in my mind it would be beneficial for Beanie to return. I have seen mock drafts that have him going off the board in the late teens. If he were to come back, stay healthy(?), and put up the numbers we know he can, he could go in the top 5 similar to Adrian Petersen. Either way, I don't think he can go wrong. He is going to make a big impact for whoever he goes to. Petersen was somewhat injury prone in college and has put up great numbers with the increased prep time and training staff.

That said, I hope he returns and runs all over USC next year.

Is there anyway we can all get together and beg Beanie to come back??? Does he have an email.

I really feel this could become Beanie's team next year and with a lot of wrs, rbs, oline, the whole defense (exceptLB and CB) and spteams back we could be national title contenders again. Without Beanie we will be a one-trick read-option offense with Pryor. Not sure that puts us to the top.

Never in my wildizt dreams did I think BEanie should or would stay for 4 , but he's never really been featured to the extent of his potential because of injuries. Next year he should play some de and fb in addition to everything else - he should constantly be touching the ball or playing the biggest decoy in history.

BEANIE, COME ON BACK FOR ONE MORE YEAR--- DEMAND THE BALL FROM TRESSEL AND CHALLENGE FOR THE HEISMAN. GO TO THE NFL AS ONE OF THE TOP TALENTS TO EVER PLAY COLLEGE FOOTBALL not as a good rb with a great stiff arm.

There are no guarantee's -- ever -- but Beanie - YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPPEN. Get your A** back to OSU and be the best you can be!! And Coach --- free the reigns -- if Beanie comes back you use him any way you can -- PISTOL BEANIE -- QB , WR, CB - - I don't care

And this injury crap is overated --- TAKE A COUNT -- WHAT'S THE % OF COLLEGE PLAYERS WHO HAVE THEIR CAREERS RUINED BY INJURY THEIR SENIOR YEAR ---- IS IT EVEN AS HIGH AS 2%???

THE UPSIDE FOR BEANIE AND OSU IF HE COMES BACK IS MUCH HIGHER THAN A FREAK HAPPENING THAT HE RUINS HIS NFL CAREER.

IF BEANIE COMES BACK HE'S GOING TO MAKE HIS NFL CAREER NOT RUIN IT - AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT I'D TELL HIM

NO JAMES, NO JENKINS NO BOONE --- THIS IS HIS TEAM NEXT YEAR
BE A LEADER, BEANIE

I have never met Chris Wells and I have never spoken to or met anyone that knows Chris Wells so this is just me...

I feel like Chris LOVES being the man for the Buckeyes and Buckeye nation. I feel that he embraces the role of being the face of the Ohio State Buckeyes right now and he takes that role very seriously.

I could be very wrong, but that's the impression that I get.

I think that he knows what's waiting for him in the NFL and that he isn't all that excited to get there. The main motivation for the NFL right now is money and anytime that the main motivation is anything other than passion you will be torn. Chris Wells has a passion for being an Ohio State football player. That's something that the majority of us can't possibly understand. I've said myself he'd be an idiot not to leave because he'd be risking more money than I'll make in a lifetime. That's me looking at his situation within the parameters of MY criteria of how I would make this decision.

This kid knows what he has right now and that's rare for a kid his age. When I was 21-22 years old I didn't know where I was or what I wanted to do. Chris Wells really seems to know where he is and what he has AND it's important to him. He's passionate about it.

I've been talking about him coming back because of his injuries and coming back to try and improve his draft status for next year so he can make more money.

He's talking about coming back to try and help the team and cement his place in Buckeye lore. He's passionate about that and THAT'S why he's torn.

Hat's off to Beanie because he's torn for all the right reasons.

Being drafted in the teens would probably be better for beanie anyways. Because A) they probably already have a great running back B) It'd be a better positioned team and C) He still would makes millions. I think Beanie would be best fitted if he had a roll close to his 06' season. Where he would get 10 carries a game or so, and ease into the new level of play. If he goes to Cincy then forget it he's gonna be the workhorse getting 20 carries a game. Which IMO, wouldn't be a great Idea his first year.
