RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

Another reason he DOES NOT need to come back and WILL NOT!

He completed The Touchdown Trifecta with his LAST TD in The Shoe! 52, 62 and 59 yds!

Ohio State awards banquet: Wells turning pro? Easy call to make, Tressel says

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Ohio State coach Jim Tressel, who watched junior tailback Chris "Beanie" Wells win four awards at the team's banquet yesterday, was asked whether Wells faces a tough decision in regard to leaving for the NFL after the Fiesta Bowl. "If it were me, it wouldn't be tough," Tressel said.
He should go?
"Shoot, yeah," Tressel said. "In my opinion he ought to be one of the first five guys picked. I know he is very focused, and this game (against Texas) is very important to him but we've always said if you're going to be a top-round pick, you ought to think about going."

Just imagine how firmly he could cement that record if he had one more game to play....

We could be talking him holding The Game career rushing record by about 170 yards....

I caught a little bit of the Fan today and Spiels was pretty hard on Chris today. Said he would not be surprised if Wells doesn't show up to play and basically said he is more worried about making his NFL money then playing in the bowl game.

I certainly hope he comes to play because in order for the Buckeyes to beat a great Texas team team I really think they will need to ride him all game long.

haven't listened yet, but I wander if Spiels really believes this or is trying to talk him into coming back.

That's really strange for Spiels to say. I can't remember any instance where Beanie came anywhere close to "mailing it in". If anything, Beanie's efforts when banged up have shown that he cares more about his teams success than his health. Beanie's a Buckeye through and though, and I expect nothing less than an all out performance against Texas, whether it's his last game in Scarlet and Gray, or not. Don't know what Spiel's reasoning was, but perhaps Beanie will use it as motivation to have a great game.
