Beanie's exit would be victory for Michigan

NFL prospects since the day he arrived on campus, Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez can save him the trouble of going to class.

Rodriguez, doing his best to hasten Beanie's departure, doesn't want to deal with Wells now anymore than he would have wanted to during his days as a walk-on defensive back for West Virginia. Wells is only a junior, but Rodriguez knows the sooner No. 28 is gone the faster he can rebuild Michigan's fortunes without worrying about a well-placed stiff arm turning his defenders to dust.
After rushing for 134 yards -- 101 on two carries -- in Saturday's 42-7 waxing of the Wolverines, Wells was non-committal about his future plans. There's his football family in Columbus and his nuclear family (10 siblings) in Akron to consider, along with a shaky medical history that would suggest Wells not dally when it comes to turning pro.
