RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

Sounds like she accidentally let the cat out of the bag.
Meh, cat was only half in the bag to begin with. Barring a major unexpected stumble, he'll be a projected top-10 pick. Then again if the team stumbles along the way, with our recent trend of prospects returning, who knows. Then again, again, defensive players aren't as likely to have their careers wrecked by injury as a RB.

I get it. The writing was on the wall. I didn't expect him to stay either. That quote made it sound like Mama Wells and the rest of the Wells clan wanted to keep it under wraps until the end of the season like all juniors eligible for the draft do, thus "letting the cat out of the bag".

BTW, I wonder what the thread title of this will be once it's split from this thread.

I'm with the last poster... If beanie finishes with 1500-1700 yards again with more TD's like around 20 then he's top five for sure. He should go and get his money (which by that time will be more than earned) because people of his skill set don't come very often. 235 pounds and runs like he does is not very common for a RB especially one who can juke you out or absolutely blow you up if you get his way. He'll be a better NFL running back than Reggie Bush or Darren Mcfadden will ever be. Beanie might not do as well as Adrian Peterson but I think with the right team could really turn a franchise around. I have no idea how chris stays healthy with the pounding he has to take.

He's like a more agile Jamal Lewis and a bigger Marion Barber rolled into one.

I think Marion the Barbarian is as close as you'll get to a comparison. Beanie is a truck, but he's a damn fast and agile truck. I cannot wait to see him rollin this season, to go along with our other weapons- and now extremely expanded playbook possibilities.

Sorry, I'm not much of a defensive guy.

This is interesting, and sure would be great if it holds true.

Beanie: 'I plan on being here four years'

By Tim May
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Ohio State tailback Chris "Beanie" Wells, coming off the top sophomore rushing season in school history, said after a spring practice this afternoon that he intends to remain in school for the long run.

There has been speculation that Wells, who racked up 1,609 yards last
season while establishing his name as Heisman Trophy candidate for 2008, might choose to leave for the NFL after three seasons at OSU. When asked whether he could see this being his last season at OSU, though, he was adamant with his answer.

"No, it's not going to be my last year," Wells said. "I plan on being here four years."

Cont'd ...

Another big season and the NFL offers would be very hard to resist!
But, Beanie, we love ya big guy!

When Beanie decides to go pro, will he still be called "Beanie" when he ripping off 100 plus yards a game for the Dolphins, er I mean the Titans, or maybe the Browns? Just wondering. Beanie will be a force in the NFL, no doubt. :)
