HAHAHA!!! Go check out the thread on GBW. Those weasels are backpedaling like there's no tomorrow. about 90% of them say they never wanted him anyway, and the other 10% say he's gonna open up his recruitment again when the "bigtime" schools start coming around.
All the sweeter... our victory is complete. :sneaky:

Hopefully, this starts a ripple effect for this class. Landing Boone and O'Neal early was big, but nothing gives your class momentum like getting a top guy early at a Heisman position (see also: 2002 with Zwick and Clarett). A couple more blue chippers in the spring or summer, and this class will be one of those that kids will want to join just to be a part of something great.

I guess my "hunch plus 50%" prediction is looking pretty prophetic right now....LOL...

Had pretty good info that it was coming--just didn't think it would be that fast!

Go Bucks!

think we got some others coming........stay tuned........

WOW! I am just pumped. What great news. Solid kid. Glad to have him aboard!

It was metioned on BN that he is only 16 and will be 17 on graduation day. I do not think we have any idea how big the upside is with this kid. He is still a very young man that is still maturing. I cannot imagine him at 19 or 20.

I am glad he committed early. Now everyone won't have to panic all year for him to be a Buckeye.

It is great news, but you know the worrying about whether he committed too early, why is he taking visits, and will he go elsewhere threads are all coming over the next twelve months.

Unbelievable. I really didn't think we would be able to forget MoC so soon. The 2006 team should be stacked, and Wells/Wells should be unreal. Here's to hoping Wells can continue to grow and be even bigger than George size wise.

If we can answer Bush/White with Wells/Wells I think we have a legit case for being Tailback U.

The only real difference in our '05 team and '06 team (other than Chris Wells and some impact Frosh, of course) will be the LB. With Hawk, Schlegel and Carpenter.. possibly MDa, but we may get him for another year.. leaving, it will all depend on how well our young guys develop. But, we shoud be unstoppable by then.

I take a break from the site and POW!!! Congratulations to Chris Wells and his family.

Great to know we got a power back, man I was bummed when JG went to WVU but this is the smash mouth (Woody style) back we needed, WOW!!!

What a pick-up after a hard let down from JG...

The way Gwaltney jerked our and USC's staff around by calling them both the day prior and telling them he's going to their school and then going to WVU, we don't need clowns like that. I'll take a kid like Beanie who truly wants to be a Buckeye over anyone else every time. Not to mention the fact that Wells will be better than Gwaltney anyway.

Exactly. I was sad to see JG go before I learned of the truth about his antics, but I knew right afterwards that it was good in terms of the wells situation. We could NOT afford to lose him to UM.

This kid revolutionizes an already good '06 offense.

I think with his speed and better competion than JG you might be dead on. IMO

The first thing that comes to mind when you watch Chris Wells is power. Period. The guy is an in-between the tackle kinda runner who finds ways to keep chugging it forward. Right now, I would roughly guess that he runs in the 4.55-4.6 range, which is not far off from MoC's speed at the peek of his career. If this kid can find a way to not lose speed while making a cut, watch out. He is already special, but if he does that, he will be Willis McGahee with more power.
