RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

I don't remember seeing this on here, but Beanies goal is to have 50 carries. Who wants to lead this team? The guy that said he has had dreams about this game and they all have a great ending. Oh man please let him roll this team, first dorsey, then highsmith, then steltz and give a stare to Miles for good measure. God, that would be awesome.

He would be in my top 3 favorite Buckeyes if he breaks a Dorsey tackle, jukes out Highsmith, stiffarms Steltz, scores, stares down the LSU bench, and then has a seat like nothing just happened.

Badass.

Wells living up to hype After slow start, Ohio State running back in full stride

NEW ORLEANS: Ohio State fans mights have had their doubts about Chris ''Beanie'' Wells when the season opened against Youngstown State in September.
Touted as the No. 1 prospect in the country when he starred at Garfield High School, Wells rushed for a mediocre 46 yards on 16 carries ? against a Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA) team.
At a school that has produced Heisman Trophy running backs such as Eddie George and Archie Griffin, that's not exactly what Buckeye Nation expected.
Wells ran tentatively, without much of a burst or power. Some of the problem was due to an injured ankle that nagged him all season, but that is the type of injury that players normally tolerate.
He was consistent the first half of the season but didn't really flash what OSU coaches saw of him in high school. That was until the Michigan State game, when he gained 221 yards and dominated during the second half.
His maturation as a football player had begun.

Beanie was the best player on the field tonight.

No one can convince me otherwise.

Absolutely true. Beanie was focused and gave more than everything he had. Unforunately we fell behind for the second straight year, and lost our ability to depend on the run.

Congrats to Beanie though, he really put his name on the map. Nobody can question what he brought to this game.

Beanie played his heart out tonight.

I have nothing but respect for the man, and feel bad that despite his heroic efforts, he had to walk away again without a championship.

I don't know what you all are thinking exactly, but IMHO, Beanie should be named an Offensive Team Captain next year, even as a junior.

"Beanie" was the one word that seemed to fetch a sparkle out of each set of eyes that I watched the game with tonight, in reference to next season. As the game wore on, the outcome became more and more obvious, it was a tough crowd. "Beanie" is the backbone of hope....

That was one helluva run you broke off, and the possibilities are endless. Not many teams ever make it to a title game, and for #28 to have already played in 2 of them and not be satisfied, makes me feel pretty good about things.

Beanie, you truly are the man. I cannot express how much fun it is to see you do your thing, and Lord help me September cannot get here soon enough for either of us, my friend. Go Bucks!

beanie was the best player on the field tonight. unfortunately they had the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th best players on the field. at least how they played tonight.

beanie is such a goddam joy to watch, though. he's exactly what i was dreaming about during that tough several year/lydell ross/mo hall stretch where we didn't have a single back who could ever even break a tackle. i can't wait to see an even better beanie next year!
