I saw the same thing... I would bet money on it being just sore from last weeks fall during the Akron game. He was favoring that hip early in the 2nd quarter coming off the field too... With a bit of time off this weekend and a chance to heal against NW he'll be fine (by healing I mean a quick 110 yards and a quick exit)

Ken Gordon says Beanie is OK

...
Well, all I can say is he came out for postgame interviews smiling and saying he was fine. He was asked about his back, and he just said it tightened up on him, but he said he's fine. I think he's probably being truthful, because he did not receive any treatment on the sidelines that I could see, and he did not get treatment after the game before getting on the plane.
So, until or unless I hear otherwise, I would say there's no injury concern.

Well, thats very good to hear!

I think JT and co. should put Beanie on "Light Duty" this week, granted the game well in hand by halftime. Maybe 15carries for him this week since he's gotten quite a few up til this point. I'd like to see him 100% for the Purdue game. Then kind of take it easy on him until the Wiscy/PSU games. I think those 3 games we're really going to have to just pound it out against those teams.

I dont want to get in a shootout with Purdue, so lets keep the offense on the field and wear down their D.

all they have to do is calling running plays to the outsides to give him a so called break. Most of his carries are inside and with his running attacking style means to much for his body.

Plus he's been killing people on the edge. I love seeing Beanie break to the outside and wind up the stiff arm on some poor DB or LB

Former Garfield High standout approaching his potential among nation's elite runners
Practice gets Wells up to speed Back's slow start this season blamed on sore ankle, lack of focus in opener

COLUMBUS: One of the bigger questions Ohio State's offense faced as it prepared for the season was whether sophomore running back Chris Wells could carry the load.
Three games into the season the answer is an emphatic yes. In three games, Wells, a graduate of Garfield High, lugged the ball 60 times for 332 yards, a whopping 5.4-yard average, and two touchdowns. This despite starting the season with a 16-carry, 46-yard performance against Youngstown State University. In that game, he failed to score from the 1-yard line on three attempts.

The real Beanie finally stands up
JASON LLOYD, Morning Journal Writer

COLUMBUS -- With 1:40 left in the first quarter against Washington, the Beanie Wells that fans have heard so much about finally made a big impression.

On Washington cornerback Jason Wells, whose ears might still be ringing.

Wells took a handoff and surged through the lane on the left side. About 23 yards later he was near the sideline when Jason Wells came crashing high into him -- only to fly off and bounce backwards.

Bug, meet windshield.
