RB Carlos "El Guapo" Hyde (Official Thread)

I love Carlos. He runs with anger and purpose. He gets yac nearly every time.

So did Antonio Pittman, who I think is highly underrated.

Pittman was awesome, but I think Hyde is on another level this year.
I think he also suffered by having Beanie in his wake... even his Sr. year all the talk was about Wells. But Pittman always showed up and got us clutch scores and yardage.

I think this OL and offense in general help a lot. Not trying to take anything away from Carlos but Beanie ran for 1600 yards in one year on Dave's back.

Pittman was extremely underrated. Had he stuck around for his senior season he would have almost certainly been #2 in rushing yards all time at tOSU.....

Beanie would've been first.

Yeah.. If he could stay on the field an entire game maybe. With that logic I could say Byars would have been all time rush leader had he not broken his foot at the end of his Junior year.
He was never the same after that. Byars did it more where it counts on the scoreboard with 46 TDs. That be 16 more than Beanie and Beanie had more opportunities.

No it was Geoff Vogt, florida (hs) insider on scout, although he qualified his statement that the B1G was the only league where he might be able to contribute at rb
I don't know what Geoff Vogt said, and that could have been what the OP was referring to, but I distinctly remember Duane Long writing very similar language on his blog around 2009. "The Duane Long Report," is what it was called, IIRC. Might have been while 'los was at Fork Union.

Easily the most incredible stat on that chart. Only Beanie is within 30 yards/game of him.

Archie's attempts are waaaayy out in front. If Wells had more carries, who knows. Archie played every game and didnt miss much though. He also played in a completely different era.

Wells was surely a beast though. Best stiff arm I've ever seen along with Earl Campbell.
