RB Carlos "El Guapo" Hyde (Official Thread)

I just did some quick math. Throw out the FAMU game since he just got a couple carries in a game that was over before it started. Take his yards per game from the remaining 6 games and he was on a pace for 2,114 yards (151 yds/game for 14 games). His suspension probably cost him a heisman when you look at Manziel losing multiple games and Winston getting some bad pub lately.

Moral: When you're a high profile athlete/celebrity, your posse is supposed to pre-screen and bring the vijayjay to you, not the other way around.

Ohio State: Carlos Hyde runs like a freight train

COLUMBUS — It’s a wise move to get off the tracks when the train is coming through.
Ohio State’s offensive linemen aren’t always successful in doing that, though. When the train — i.e. 230-pound running back Carlos Hyde — gets up a head of steam, there’s not always a safe place to be.
“In 2011 at Nebraska, I was playing right guard,” senior tackle Jack Mewhort said. “I pulled around on a power play and he ran into the back of me and broke two of my ribs. I played the rest of the season with broken ribs.
“So I know what it’s like to get hit by Carlos Hyde.”
Hyde will enter Saturday’s game against visiting Indiana with 949 yards rushing and a 7.9 yard-per-rush average. Of his 120 carries this season, he has been tackled behind the line of scrimmage once, for a 2-yard loss.
In perhaps a match made in heaven for a running back looking to break the 1,000-yard rushing mark, Hyde and the Buckeyes will be facing an Indiana defense that gives up an average of 251 yards rushing per game. The Hoosiers were pillaged for more than twice that number last week against Wisconsin, giving up 554 ground yards to the Badgers in a 51-3 loss.
Unless something catastrophic happens, Hyde on Saturday will become the first Meyer-coached running back to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. He is on track to become Ohio State’s first 1,000-yard rusher since Beanie Wells had 1,197 yards in 2008.
What makes the mark more impressive is that Hyde has done it despite missing the first three games of the season because of suspension.
Hyde’s 949 yards have come in seven games for the 10-0 (6-0) Buckeyes.
“I love Carlos,” Meyer said. “He was immature a couple years ago — like very immature.”
