Yeah I know, he fumbled inside the 5 yard line yesterday; and maybe he needs to learn to hold on to the ball a little better. I really like the way he runs between the tackles and moves the pile forward. When all is said and done with the careers of the exisiting running backs, it would not surprise me if Carlos Hyde turns out to be the best of the bunch.

I agree. But the crazy and awesome thing is that it wouldn't surprise me if any of the young backs turn out to be the best of the bunch. It's really just an embarrassment of riches, and very unfair.

If you throw all of the intangibles out, our best three backs appear to be Hall, Berry and Hyde. Scary good! With Rod Smith redshirting and Dunn and Ball coming in down the road there aren't enough balls for this amount of talent that we have hauled in.

Well, idk about you, but i've seen enough from Herron in big games, like him continuing to run the route against Oregon when the play broke down that got us a huge first down, or his huge performance vs. Illinois when Pryor went down to know that he is at least one of the best two backs. However, I have seen enough of the young backs in garage time to know that they have the potential to be very good.

Boom is not built to last for 25 carries a game in the B10, so that's where a guy like Hyde can come in and run with some physicality to wear down the opposing defense. But I'd be dam[censored]ed if Tressel starts to play running back carousel as we head into the teeth of the schedule.

he's the only one that can run up the middle easy and he proved it but, that fumble probably put him back as the 5th option at RB . :(
