RB Bri'onte Dunn (dismissed from team)

I'm a GlenOak alum, and next season Dunn should get fewer carries than this season. This season, GlenOak was usually below-average passing the ball, which meant Dunn had to carry the workload on offense for the Eagles. The team graduated a lot of players from last season's team that went all the way to the region two regional final game, and with less playmakers, Dunn was the man on offense this season.

Next year, the Eagles return a lot of players, and Dunn should get some rest with Chris Autry backing him up at RB. If Christian Manns can step in and produce a solid passing game next season at QB, this will not only help the Eagles' chances for securing a playoff spot, but it will also make Dunn an even more efficient runner.

Check out his TheRinger.com player profile. Each profile includes the standard player info (measurements, interest, offers, etc.). In addition, each profile has some features unlike anything provided by the network sites:
  1. a timeline listing visits & camps
  2. a facts section listing achievements & trivia
  3. a Buzz section looking at what school he may choose (a little late in this case :)).

The bruising Golden Eagle running back already has verbally committed to Ohio State for 2012.

?I think not only those big-time guys, but there are a lot of other really good, tough high school football players in the area,? GlenOak head coach Scott Garcia said. ?It?s going to be an exciting year.?

When Dunn committed to Ohio State, it seemed to lift a weight off his shoulders. And his coach?s, too. Garcia said the recruiting process can be a distraction for individual players and for the team.

?Yeah it was a relief,? said Dunn, who could become Stark County?s all-time leading rusher after next season with close to 4,000 yards now. ?Playing at Ohio State was my dream since I was a little kid. I always liked the Buckeyes. And knowing I committed was a blessing.?

Is recruiting a distraction? That depends.

?I don?t think so unless you let it be,? Dunn said. ?You just have to work hard, help your teammates, and let everything fall where it would.?

He didn't look that big last year when I saw him walking the halls. He is just in post-football shape. He usually runs track and if he does it again this spring, he will be in shape by the time may hits. No worries.

agreed, but I was responding to the asinine comment that it looked like he "ate" John Clay, implying that he was significantly larger

Bri'onte Dunn, RB
(Canton, Ohio/Glenoak)

He committed early to Ohio State but in today's world of recruiting, do early commitments even mean anything any more? They do to Dunn, who showed up in Buckeyes gear from head to toe and said he's rock solid to Ohio State, has no interest in checking out other schools and will only take one official visit this fall and that's to Ohio State. The reason he committed early was to get the process over with and behind him, and he doesn't want to be contacted by any other schools.

TomVH: RB Bri'Onte Dunn Offered | mgoblog

I normally wouldn't start another thread on this, but the other thread got out of hand, which you can see here. MGoUser chewieblue mentioned a rumor about Bri'Onte Dunn being offered by Michigan.

I spoke with Glen Oak High School AD Scott Garcia who confirmed that rumor that Michigan has offered Dunn, who is currently an Ohio State commitment. Garcia didn't know too much about the impact it would have, or what Dunn was feeling right now. He did say that Bri'Onte talked to him about the offer and that he was definitely excited about it. It's interesting to say the least that Michigan would offer him if they didn't think they had a chance. We'll see what happens from here.
