RB Bri'onte Dunn (dismissed from team)

The Florida fans always made mention of how Urban was always looking to get a big back into the team, but was never able to. Alot of that had to do with USC's incredible run on 5 star runningbacks in recruiting.

Brionte and Warren Ball are the two highest rated big backs I think Urban has ever had committed. He's probably had an idea of what he wants to do with talents like that for a long time. In the next few years, I expect to see elements of a "Power Spread" implemented. It may become a feature of the offense depending on the development of Ball and Dunn, as well as the personnel at other positions on the team.

Not to be nit picky but I don't think that is right. Just off the top of my head Demps and Rainey were both highly rated...I think Rainey was a 5 star.

Size is the issue - and an interesting one. The conventional wisdom is that Urban wanted to play with small backs. Urban argues he didn't have them.

I think a big back is the perfect complement for his offense - particularly with Miller as QB. Go right at an unblocked defender and either run around him or over him depending on who it is.

If Dunn enrolls early, then does he count towards last year's total?

Yes, but it is irrelevant since the 25 per class isn't the issue. It's all about the 85 scholarship total.

We're getting pretty close to 85, though there are some possible transfers and medical hardships that might open up more spots.

When the sanctions finally do come down the number will likely be less than 85.

It's not irrelevant given our acceptance of 5 schollies over 3 years penalty. The 2011 scholarship allowance is not affected by this reduction, whereas 2012 might be.
