CaneSport.com, the Miami affiliated Rivals site, is reporting Miami head coach Randy Shannon has been fired. The report follows rumors of a late-night meeting in Miami between president Don Shalala and advisors to determine the future of the football program and Shannon.
Citing multiple sources, CaneSport said word that Shannon was ousted was slowly spreading in Coral Gables and that players were upset with the decision.

They're gonna have a hard time finding a good coach. 60-15 and a Nat'l Title in 6 years got Coker canned, Shannon straightened out the discipline/academic issues but got canned, there is fickle fan support, shit stadium, shit facilities and sky-high expectations. I'd expect a drawn out search followed by an underwhelming hire. They just have to hope they can strike gold with a lesser-known coach.

Why on earth would Harbaugh leave Stanford for Miami, which is quickly becoming the modern graveyard of coaches? He's set at Stanford until he picks his destination...NFL, Michigan, domers, Tejas. It won't however be Coral Gables.

Hell I'm not saying he'll go there (he won't), but the scUMmers will almost certainly be fearful that their savior might work for a different master next year.....
