Does he have the necessary foot work? I always saw Pryor as a kid who had excellent N to S speed, but lacked agility and ability to change directions.

I see him more suited for tight end.

Screw all the talk about whether he's a TE, a WR, or a QB, he is unquestionably one of maybe the two or three best athletes on the Raiders roster, and one of perhaps 50 best athletes in the NFL, regardless of position. Throw him fades in the back corner of the endzone in redzone situations if that's all he does. It's basically an indefensible play. What NFL team has 6'6" safeties? The Raiders org are morons.

If he's not one of your 53 best athletes then cut your losses. The Raiders haven't because he is, but they're too clueless (or spineless) to be creative.

I agree. Its not a Pryor problem, its a Raider issue. There is a reason this organization is in shambles. Heck, even Lane Kiffin bounced out from this team. They pick up great players and do nothing with them to make their team a winning one.

Its way to early to write Pryor off. We need to see him in some solid game action first.

As the Raiders' season winds into its final three weeks, with visions of Manti Te'o probably dancing in some fans' heads, it's just about time for Terrelle Pryor to see some long awaited game action.

The former Ohio State quarterback had a botched one-play cameo last year as a rookie and played well at times in this year's preseason games. Now the Raiders want to see what he can do in the real thing.

"I think the biggest thing is to start getting him into the game a little bit and let him see a little game action," coach Dennis Allen said Friday, a day after the Raiders (3-10) endured their sixth straight loss, 26-13 to Denver.

He said he's not going to start Pryor in the next game, Dec. 16 at home against Kansas City (2-10), but he wants to see what Pryor and other young players can do.

Pryor is still listed as the No. 3 quarterback behind Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart. He has suited up for the past two games after being inactive most of the season.

"We've got a package of plays that we've had up and available the last couple of weeks to get Terrelle in the game," Allen said.

Dennis Allen plans to get Terrelle Pryor some playing time

In one of the few developments that could make the Oakland Raiders an interesting team to watch in the final weeks of the season, coach Dennis Allen says he’s planning to get backup quarterback Terrelle Pryor some playing time.

Allen stressed that he is not considering benching Carson Palmer, but he said on Friday that he believes the Raiders would be well served to put Pryor on the field and see what he can do.

“I think the biggest thing is to start getting him in a game, a little bit of game action,” Allen said, via CSNBayArea.com. “I’m not ready to say that he would be a starter. I think that Carson, obviously, he’s made a couple of mistakes the last couple of weeks but yet, Carson’s been one of the reasons why, specifically, earlier in the year, why we had a chance in certain games. So I’m not down on Carson at all. Obviously, we want to see some of these younger guys play.”

At this point, there’s no reason not to give a shot to Pryor, the former Ohio State star whom the Raiders acquired with a third-round pick in last year’s supplemental draft. The only question is whether they’d give him a series to play quarterback in their base offense, or whether they’d use him as a wildcat quarterback or at another position. Pryor is a good athlete who was as likely to make plays with his feet as with his arm in college.
