QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

And I know JT fucked up.. he had to be TP's babysitter and father and coach all in one. JT should have forwarded those emails. But jesus, how can someone not understand another fans angst toward TP.

I don't give a shit if he stiff armed Mark May in the cock while pissing on touchdown Jesus and steam rolling Trent Morgan for 6 points.

TP fucked his legacy.

I don't think even MoC sold his gold pants off for some ink or dope or free pizzas from across the street of a tattoo shop.

What happened on the west side was very much in the public eye down there. JT had a good reason to believe drugs were involved and fear for their saftey. Very lucky people love their Buckeyes.. especially those in the bottoms. What SI was looking for was down there. Every door they knocked on, they got the same answer: "fuck off."

TP is a douche. I wish him well on & off the field.

Srry for the blow up posts.. but if a Buckeye fan wants to black ball TP.. so be it.

I know his picture got taken off my wall a long time ago.

You sound like you washed down those crazy pills with a gallon of 5 hour energy.

I don't think people are stating that you or any other Buckeye fan should feel a certain way about TP. Bad character or not, can't argue with his on field success. Amazing player. The minute people start hating on TP, rightfully so in many cases, they suddenly act like he wasn't one of the best players to ever come to Ohio State. I'd say he's easily one of the top 20 players to ever come here and I could make an argument for top 5.

I think Terrelle Pryor was (and likely still is) a spoiled brat who made some mistakes that ended up costing both him and his school big time. But acting like he wasn't a tremendous college quarterback is just silly. He performed very well on the field, even as so many "fans" derided him as not being a "real quarterback." Another stupid comment, BTW.

It's hard for many people to separate their distaste for the man from their evaluation of him as a player, though, I certainly understand that.
Max has this one covered, imo.

I'm gonna step away from the keyboard. No idea why I felt the need to blow up this thread.

Look.

My point is, TP was a helluva QB.. so was Art.

Art isn't celebrated around these parts as gods gift to Ohio State.

Neither should TP.

The dude brought a lot of shame here, over stupid choices. He was young, he fucked up, and hopefully he puts it together on & off the field.

I don't wish him any ill-will, and honesty hope he can have a solid career in the NFL.

Just something about seeing Buckeye fans arguing with each other on this topic that sets me off. Some people do not like him - let those fans be. Some people do like him - I need to chill out and let those fans be.

Just.. don't sell gold pants for pizza & ink. Jesus Christ. Those should go to your mom, son, daughter, wife.. those don't belong in a make shift memobrilla shop in the bottoms or hill top.

Sorry for blowing up.

Oh, one other beef - to compare him to Tatum is beyond dumb. Tatum was a fucking animal. TP ran for the sidelines. That is all.

So we win that game with Bauserman at QB?
So the offensive line had nothing to do with the win? How about the tail back? The wide outs? Without Jim Tressel? Without the defensive line or DBs play that night? What about our linebackers?

My point was, you can't say "TP won that game" when there are 10 other guys on offense and 11 on defense that left it all out on the field that night. Was TP a HUGE part of that win? Obviously dude. To give him all the credit? GTFO.

Let it go dude. He did a lot of bad here but he also did a lot of good.
He won us a Rose Bowl. He did everything he could to protect the school by not speaking to the NCAA.

Yes he put Tressel in the situation but Tressel could have suspended him and it could have ended right there.

Can't you just forgive the guy and move on?

He also won us a Sugar Bowl, which may not exist (record wise) but still happened.

Whatever else you say about Pryor, he didn't drive family and friends to suicide over money stolen and other heinous acts, like Schlichter did.

Pryor may be a spoiled brat, but he's not a sociopath like Art. Let's not compare these two.

The bad outweighed the good.
THe rose Bowl dont count anymore... ty Pryor and et all IN fact we gave up a whole season.. A whole season
He did everything he could to protect himself not the school.
Which tradition did he protect?
I bet that evrythibg he did , evry action he took was to further his own interests, up to and including playing.
Ill give him forgiveness in my will unless he surprises me.

Who is celebrating him as god's gift to OSU? All I see is people acknowledging that he was a great athlete and did some ridiculous things (good AND bad) as the QB for Ohio State.

Saying Pryor's name in the same sentence as Schlicter's is a joke. Did Pryor do some immature selfish things? Probably. Did he steal from people and con widows? Not even close. Schlicter is a fucking criminal and should stay behind bars. Pryor was a jerk. Big difference.

The dude brought a lot of shame here, over stupid choices. He was young, he fucked up, and hopefully he puts it together on & off the field.

So did a handful of other guys. Why does Pryor always take all the blame?

Some people do not like him - let those fans be. Some people do like him - I need to chill out and let those fans be.

Shit, I don't really "like" him all that much (as much as I can dislike somebody I have never met) but that doesn't mean he wasn't a great football player when he was here. Denying that he is tremendous athlete and pretty good QB just because you don't like him personally is silly, in my IMO.

Different people, different values, different priorities. Would I value a set of gold pants as being worth more than some tattoos & pizza? Absolutely. But I don't expect everyone else to feel the same way.

If Art played here two years ago, and Pryor 30+ years ago, then we might be celebrating Art and ignoring Pryor.

Also, Art was a criminal, while Pryor never did anything illegal, or even unethical outside of the NCAA Ivory Tower.

When you are one of the best athletes in the world, little things like gold pants don't mean all that much. Especially when you are a teenager. I'm not justifying it, just explaining it.

And Tatum never threw a sixty-yard touchdown pass.... Not sure what your point is, but rants never do make much sense.
