QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

I'm gonna step away from the keyboard. No idea why I felt the need to blow up this thread.

Look.

My point is, TP was a helluva QB.. so was Art.

Art isn't celebrated around these parts as gods gift to Ohio State.

Neither should TP.

The dude brought a lot of shame here, over stupid choices. He was young, he fucked up, and hopefully he puts it together on & off the field.

I don't wish him any ill-will, and honesty hope he can have a solid career in the NFL.

Just something about seeing Buckeye fans arguing with each other on this topic that sets me off. Some people do not like him - let those fans be. Some people do like him - I need to chill out and let those fans be.

Just.. don't sell gold pants for pizza & ink. Jesus Christ. Those should go to your mom, son, daughter, wife.. those don't belong in a make shift memobrilla shop in the bottoms or hill top.

Sorry for blowing up.

Oh, one other beef - to compare him to Tatum is beyond dumb. Tatum was a fucking animal. TP ran for the sidelines. That is all.

He sold jewelry.

Get over it.

The bad outweighed the good.
THe rose Bowl dont count anymore... ty Pryor and et all
He did everything he could to protect himself not the school.
Which tradition did he protect?
I bet that evrythibg he did , evry action he took was to further his own interests, up to and including playing.
Ill give him forgiveness in my will unless he surprises me.

The Rose Bowl does count. The Sugar doesn't

If he would have talked to the NCAA the school would have gotten a worse punishment. Pryor wanted to stay at Ohio State but to do that he would have had to talk to the NCAA and the school would have been screwed. So he left.

And Tatum never threw a sixty-yard touchdown pass.... Not sure what your point is, but rants never do make much sense.
No, Tatum never threw a 60 yard touchdown pass. And Pryor never hit a Heisman Trophy winner so hard on a swing pass that the guy spent the rest of the game trying to locate Pryor on just about every play so it wouldn't happen again. I'm not saying Pryor wasn't a freak athlete, but he's not the only one to play at tOSU. When it came to size, strength, speed, quickness, toughness, and decision making on the field, Tatum was in a class of his own. You better make sure you got to the sideline before he got to you, because if you didn't he made you pay. But he also had the ability to pull up once you crossed the line to keep from getting hit with a penalty.

Not trashing Pryor, but to anoint him as the greatest athlete ever at tOSU is not a foregone conclusion.

Quarterback Terrelle Pryor was active for Sunday?s game, the first time he was in uniform for a regular-season game in 12 games this season.
Maybe now that the Raiders are out of the playoffs picture, Allen and McKenzie will do more than allow Pryor to stand on the sideline in his uniform.
Pryor didn?t play Sunday, and he still hasn?t attempted a pass in his two NFL seasons. He was on the field for one botched play his rookie season, when he got called for a false start.
McKenzie said he wants to see Pryor play so that he can get a better feel for what Pryor can do in a real game.
It says here that now is the perfect time to do so. The Raiders have four otherwise meaningless games left. They need to see what Pryor can do, as well as other young, inexperienced players such as running back Taiwan Jones and defensive back Brandian Ross.

Raiders had Pryor package for Browns game
December 3, 2012

ALAMEDA -- Yes, Terrelle Pryor dressed for his first game as the Raiders' third quarterback on Sunday.

No, he did not play. But Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Knapp, who is essentially running the day-to-day operations in the absence of coach Dennis Allen, said the team had a package of plays for Pryor to use against the Browns.

The opportunity simply did not present itself.

"I've believed that from Day 1 -- how many guys can you get involved on a gameplan?" Knapp said during Monday's media conference. "I really do believe that if you can get a couple packages for a tight end or for a receiver, I think it helps motivate them to play through the season. And since that's kind of been our M.O. on offense throughout the year, hopefully it carries over now with Terrelle and we get the right situations to use the package that we have."

In fact, Knapp said the Raiders plan on activating Pryor for Thursday night's home game against Denver.

"And using the right situations to help develop his growth," Knapp said. "It's a fine line but it's also, the teammates pull for each other. They know, Hey, I think there's a couple of plays for this guy. Let him go out there and have an opportunity to make a play.

"So they actually pull for each other more often than people may think from the outside."

Allen, you'll recall, left the team Sunday night to be by his ailing father Grady's side in the Dallas-Forth Worth area. The elder Allen, who played in the NFL for Atlanta as a linebacker from 1968 through 1972, is in intensive care in an area hospital with an undisclosed ailment. The Raiders coach plans on returning to the Raiders by Wednesday night.
