QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

It's not that he won't be a servicable pro. It's that his status relagates him to someone who will likely be on the practice squad. And giving up a draftpick for him only to cut him and hope he signs to your practice squad and not someone elses (From what I recall this isn't like baseball where you can just assign someone to your practice squad.) seem incredibly pointless.
How many 5th-7th rounders ever make a team? Look at Thaddeus Gibson and Doug Worthington from just last year.

^^From the above article; that would be awesome for Pryor if he were to get drafted by the Colts. Talk about learning from the master. Doubt it will happen though.

Manning has been in the league a long time, but one thing I've never really heard about him is what a great teacher he is. Maybe since he's never injured we've never been able to watch any of his backups, and he's never really had to mold anyone. Would be an interesting landing spot for TP, for sure.

Listening to Pryor's attorney on Mike and Mike and hearing some of the lamest bullshit reasoning I have ever heard in my life.

According to him, coaches "lie" to 46% of recruits when they offer a scholarship/education because 46% of them don't graduate. Apparently, the choices the student/athlete makes play no part in this outcome.

He then went on to say (paraphrasing) "where else but college athletics do we put this kind of pressure and expectations on 'kids' to perform and behave under such high expectations"? I guess he's never heard of the armed forces, where "kids" live in life and death situations 24/7 when put in harm's way. But yes, being on a full scholie to play football at Ohio State is just too much to bear.

Gimme a fucking break. :roll1:

When you flunk out as a full ride student athlete, at least you don't have tens of thousands of dollars worth of student loans to pay back with nothing to show for it.

When you've got copious amounts of debt hanging over your head while going to school, doesn't that put more pressure on you than a free ride with a shot to make millions in the NFL?

Yeah, because it's not like Buckeye fans put pressure on the kids to succeed. Fuck, Ryan Hamby would've had death threats coming in for something or other eventually if he hadn't played football, I'm sure of it.

Time for Pryor to man up and accept that he has made some bad decisions. Accept the NFLs decision and move on. It is not like he would play in those first five games anyway. I think the more Pryor's lawyers push on this the worse it will make it for him. Teams may pass on him because they don't want to deal with it.

Well then I guess you and Pryor's attorney would concur that Hamby would've been safer had he been stationed in Afghanistan, away from the high pressure world of college football.

No. Just paid.

Is that the only option? Be exploited in CFB or die in Afghanistan?

Probably doesn't belong here, but if TP is being exploited then how about the Masters and PHD students who do research and come up with new ideas and discoveries? They usually get little to no credit and certainly not the monies that a sitting Professor or company who was privy to the research get.

Nobody cares about this because it is not as high profile with TV rights, ESPiN, CBS, Fox, etc. that a football player gets. Yet the exploitation is just as real.

Terrelle Pryor is leaving college debt-free and will make enough money in his first year as a pro to easily pay off the student loans that will likely hang over my head for half a lifetime. Honestly, I don't give a shit what his lawyer thinks.
