QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

can he play running back? only half joking

Another position may be the best option. He has always been fragile as a QB. RB takes too much punishment, but at receiver his primary attributes - speed and elusiveness - come to the fore.

That said ...

disagree, Guiton played pretty well (led us to 2 W's) but yet Braxton never lost his spot...he isn't losing his spot unless Barrett wins us a National Championship

I'm not saying it's likely at all. But it's a possibility.

My point was that there's really no way to know what the situation is until the season is over. Barrett may be average to below average or he could be another first year QB that breaks out.

You just don't know until the season plays out. How things fall in his absence is going to have as much to do with his decision as anything else.

I'm hoping Tim May is just a buffoon and forgot to type "season opener."

I'm starting to come around to this... in a sense. May is saying "season in jeopardy" and allowing readers to run with it. Everyone else is saying the severity is not yet known. Wouldn't be the first time the Dispatch speculated then waited for the facts to shake out.

While the phrase "season in jeopardy" is probably technically true regardless of whether it's referring to bad news or just uncertainty, it carries certain implications that are not yet supported by an actual diagnosis.

In other words, yeah, I'm fully in denial right now.

That and he followed up the next tweet discussing JT Barrett as the 'season-opener QB.' or some such words.

Not, the guy manning the QB spot for the 2014 season. Obviously, he's done well to align himself with some risk-protection should his original tweet to be little more than a shock-story. Who knows.

I'm not sure he's clever enough to cover all of his bases. I'm hoping more along the lines that he's like the doctor on Arrested Development.

On the bright side here and this is me trying to stay optimistic with our season... Miller while irreplaceable running the ball he always had his struggles throwing the ball and while Barrett could be worse it cant be THAT much worse. We should be able to have a similar throwing game due to better WR play but the wildcard is can Barrett be respectable running the ball.

With Braxton possibly out I'd really like to see someone like Jalin Marshall take a few snaps a game to run a few
