QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

Because he won't get drafted in the first round, and if he stays another year, and performs the way he's playing now, he will get drafted in the first round making more money than he would have if he went a year earlier.

This is typically true, but he could drop. He will get better, at least a little, but he is losing a great o line and a rediculous running back. I am confident that someone will step up at rb. But a young line can make him look worse. On the other hand winning a NC could help.

The offensive line next year will be fine. This coaching staff puts it's players in a position to succeed unlike a certain Walrus who will remain nameless.

The running game next year might be even more explosive than it is this year. Think about that. Hyde is awesome and it's never fun to lose a star, but the stable that OSU returns next year is awesome in it's own right.

Stable of WRs as well. We will lose Philly and perhaps D Smith, but we also gain a ton of talent from 2014's recruiting class. Not to mention Jeff Green will be eligible to play next year as well.

I hope we get to see Corey Smith get in the mix; I haven't heard too much about him lately.

Help what? Ohio State? Because winning a NC has nothing to do with a players draft stock.

I think having the poise to lead your team to a national title helps a quarterback. Showing that you can step up and play at that elite level against the best team in the country, keep your composure on the biggest stage. It isnt going to get him from a 3rd round to a first, but it can be a factor and be that bump that gets a team to select you earlier. I imagine AJ McCarron has gotten bumped up a few spots by playing so consistently on the big stage, considering he doesnt have a lot of flash.

If Troy Smith was 5 inches taller, do you still think it would have affected his stock? Everything I heard about him was his height being the issue, not the NC game.

This. I don't think Troy ever had much draft stock. If he was 6'3"+ with everything else he did then he would have been a higher pick. The buffet circuit took him from a mid round to late round pick.

I always assumed Braxton would stay for his senior season b/c he's still pretty raw as a quarterback, but just from reading between the lines when you listen to the people who cover the team, it sounds to me like he's going to go pro. I hope I'm wrong, b/c I think he might have the best season in school history for a QB next year if he did, and b/c longterm I think it would help him if he stayed in college and worked on things for another year.

I do not think he is going anywhere especially if all of the red shirt QB's come out. He is not even ranked in the top 10 QB's projected for the NFL draft if all the others do come out. I do think that he is not getting the national attention that he deserves and that is probably because of the 3 games that he has missed. He is getting much better at reading defenses and I think he can throw with any other college QB in the country. I think his decision might be based on what the other guys do but what do I know when he is thinking.

A lot of draft pundits were talking 1st round for much of the season, and after the scUM game, some were even talking top-10. I don't think that was realistic, but late-1st to early day-2 were quite possible. After his BCSCG no-show, the talk evaporated. Then he had a horrible combine performance and that was that. I think Troy slacking off after scUM and his horrible BCSNCG opened a lot of eyes the wrong way, then he sealed it with a bad combine showing. Had he worked his ass off after scUM, the story might be different, but we'll never know.

Now, I think Braxton possesses the size, measurables that Troy lacked. Arm-wise, I'd say they're pretty similar. Though Troy did have that funky, elongated wind up deal.
