who the hell cares? But yeah, that looks to be my guess. Maybe a bone bruise too? Those are damn painful

I'd just like to know what the injury may be, for timetable purposes. We could definitely use him out there, but only if he's back to 100%.

Very relieved he's been cleared to leave the hospital though, that is certainly promising.

By rule, a horsecollar tackle is when you grab the inside of the collar of the jersey/pads. The defender had a handful of the back of the jersey, but not inside the collar. Technically not illegal, but it had the same effect.

And IIRC, the rule was implemented to prevent those types of injuries. I'm not saying it should have been flagged (well, I was before I watched the replay), but hate to see ANY player get hurt because of a poor form tackle such as that.

The only way a horsecollar will be flagged is if the person with the ball is pulled down backwards or to his side. In Braxton's case, he was thrown forward, no foul.

Plays like this should be considered a penalty too...why draw a hard line (horsecollar) with "inside the shoulder pads" when it's only player safety that suffers? If it has the same effect (injury wise) throw the flag or get rid of the damn rule altogether.

Edit: Great to hear he's been released...get well young man!

You may get your (as well as mine) wish at the end of the season. Just my feeling.
