Great news that he's symptom free as the reports suggest...but clearly he's got some healing to do. When the staff helped him to the cart, it looked like he couldn't even make his feet work...very scary.

The horsecollar was implemented because they wanted to prevent tacklers from grabbing inside the top of the shoulder pads and dragging guys down from behind which puts a lot of stress on the ballcarriers legs and ankles. This is how TO injured his ankle in 2004 and when it really became a discussion about making it a rule. If you're going to create a rule for the way Braxton was tackled today then you're going to have to outlaw any tackle where the ballcarrier is taken to the ground that causes him to hit his head on the ground.

Plays like this should be considered a penalty too...why draw a hard line (horsecollar) with "inside the shoulder pads" when it's only player safety that suffers? If it has the same effect (injury wise) throw the flag or get rid of the damn rule altogether.

How would you define that rule? You can't grab a ballcarrier's jersey while tackling? I don't see it.
