QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

Best wishes go out to him for a quick recovery. The kid is tough.

I'm not going to go off on an anti-NCAA rant right now, but with everything Braxton does for this program on the field, and now being reminded again how dangerous football is, it would be nice to see these kids get a little more compensation.

That tackle seemed to be a horsecollar. Isn't it illegal? There was not any flag on the play.

Watch it again. The defender grabbed the back of his jersey, pretty much right on the "B", not his collar. That's not a penalty.

Braxton just came down in a bad way. Hopefully, it's not too serious.

By rule, a horsecollar tackle is when you grab the inside of the collar of the jersey/pads. The defender had a handful of the back of the jersey, but not inside the collar. Technically not illegal, but it had the same effect.

And IIRC, the rule was implemented to prevent those types of injuries. I'm not saying it should have been flagged (well, I was before I watched the replay), but hate to see ANY player get hurt because of a poor form tackle such as that.

It wasn't a horsecollar tackle. Defender clutched his jersey and pulled him down. Horsecollar would mean defender stuck his hand inside the back of the shoulder pads and pulled him down.
OK. I stand corrected.

My guess, having been on the wrong end of several of these (including waking up in an ambulance) is that it was a bad concussion. That would explain the shaky legs and throwing up. He should be back for Wisconsin. My thoughts are with him and his family.
