DAYTON, Ohio -- The Wayne Warriors flexed their considerable muscle, speed and toughness, and chopped down the Princeton Vikings, 21-4, in the nightcap of the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown at soggy Welcome Stadium on Friday night.
The final had the look of a baseball score because Wayne suffered two safeties ? tailback Anthone Taylor was tackled in the end zone in the first quarter and a shotgun snap slipped through Braxton Miller's hands out of the end zone in the fourth quarter.
There was plenty of "Miller Time" as Wayne's junior quarterback tossed a 19-yard TD pass to Caleb Elkins and scored on a 1-yard option run at 11:11 of the third quarter.
Miller's rushing TD came after a Princeton fumble deep in its territory, and it was sweet redemption because it made up for Miller's fumble at the Vikings' 1 on Wayne's opening series.
